I'm about that right now, and because I am so fucking tall it won't big long enough to cover me properly.
I don't know how different American 3XL is to Australian 6XL But I need at least local 6XL for decent coverage. any smaller than that and it it too tight and shows.
I have a 2XL Bad Religion shirt a friend bought me thinking I wasn't that big.. I put it on once and it was like a skin tight body suit, so I have never worn it again and put it on the wall for a bit..

3xl American is 8xl Australian according to this.
I wear an XL and I'm 240 pounds and 6'4". But my cousin is one of those fat muscular guys with a huge chest and a big gut that's half fat and half muscle that looks like an NFL lineman (it's also been commented to him that he looks like a bear.) So he's pretty damn big and a 3xl is a little loose on him.
