It actually was a hit, believe it or not. It made $32 million ($54 million today) and debuted at #2 behind Wayne's World (which was one of the biggest hits of 1992. And incidentally also had a SNES game that sucked ass.)

Of course it fucking sucked and you could never make the movie today because you can't do anything with retarded people. And now Jeff Fahey only does straight to DVD movies you only know exist because they show them on USA Network at 2 am.

On a budget of $10m, that's not an amazing result. Unless expectations were much lower in the early 90s.
