Charlie Sheen Under Criminal Investigation by LAPD

Charlie Sheen is under criminal investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Police received a call on March 31 at 7:45 a.m. for a criminal investigation in the Van Nuys, California area. The LAPD's threat management unit, which investigates cases involving harassment or stalking, is working on the case, an LAPD spokesperson tells PEOPLE

"Charlie Sheen is listed as a suspect in this investigation," the LAPD spokesperson says. "The victim’s information is kept confidential due to the investigation, and the investigation is ongoing at this time."

Police declined to provide further details, and though police did not identify the victim, multiple tabloid reports have suggested the investigation is in connection with Sheen's ex-fiancé Scottine Ross, an ex porn star who has worked under the name Brett Rossi and has alleged that Sheen threatened her.

Rossi filed a lawsuit against Sheen last year in which she alleged in court documents that he hid his HIV-positive status from her while they were in a relationship. Rossi and Sheen were engaged from November 2013 to October 2014. Rossi, 26, also alleged in the complaint that Sheen, 50, threatened her life, and she claimed that he talked about wanting "to murder people he was angry with" and putting a "hit" on her ex-husband.

In an interview with PEOPLE in December, Rossi alleged that she was afraid for her life, saying, "I'm scared he wants to kill me."

Sheen and his lawyer Martin D. Singer have denied all of her allegations.

"Charlie Sheen intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit filed by Brett Rossi aka Scottine Ross. Numerous witnesses will dispute each and every claim made by Ms. Rossi," Singer said in a statement after the lawsuit was filed. "We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action and also will recover significant damages against her in connection with a pending arbitration that was commenced months ago."

Amy Schumer to Glamour: I'm not plus-size

Amy Schumer has absolutely nothing against plus-size women, which is good, as she keeps getting classified as one.

On Tuesday, the "Trainwreck" star posted an Instagram photo that she said was from Glamour magazine, showing her name alongside those of actress Melissa McCarthy, singer Adele and model Ashley Graham.

"I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women," Schumer wrote in the caption. "Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8."

The actress went on to explain that Glamour had "put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me."

"Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size," she wrote. "What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous."

Glamour said in a statement, "First off, we love Amy, and our readers do too -- which is why we featured her on the cover of Glamour last year."

"The cover line on this special edition -- which is aimed at women size 12 and up -- simply says 'Women Who Inspire Us,' since we believe her passionate and vocal message of body positivity IS inspiring, as is the message of the many other women, of all sizes, featured," the statement said. "The edition did not describe her as plus-size. We are sorry if we offended her in any way."

Leah Degrazia of Elite Daily wrote of her confusion at seeing Schumer's name on the cover of the plus-size edition in a story headlined, "Sorry, But Amy Schumer Is Definitely Not Plus-Size."

"Now, Glamour doesn't directly attribute the word plus-size to Amy Schumer on the cover (and it's yet to be seen how the mag describes her inside), but placing her name on an all-plus-size issue does associate her with the term, and many people will pick up the copy of the magazine with the expectation of opening it up to spreads of only plus-size women," Degrazia wrote.
It's not the first time Schumer has been termed as such.

In February 2015, Jeffrey Wells of Hollywood Elsewhere wrote that "With 'Trainwreck,' director Judd Apatow is once again introducing a chubby-cheeked, whipsmart, not conventionally attractive, neurotically bothered female comic to a mass audience -- first Melissa McCarthy in 'Bridesmaids' ('11), then Lena Dunham in 'HBO's Girls' ('12) and now Amy Schumer, the star and writer of 'Trainwreck' as well as the star of Comedy Central's 'Inside Amy Schumer.' "

Wells went on to write that there was "no way she'd be an object of heated romantic interest in the real world."
Schumer responded by tweeting a picture of herself wearing only a pair of panties and the caption "I am a size 6 and have no plans of changing. This is it. Stay on or get off. Kisses!"

She might be a size 8 when she's in shape for a movie, but no way she's usually that size. She's husky.

See the difference when it isn't a photoshopped picture for Esquire?

And I'm knocking her, I like a lot of her stuff, but come on.

Judge Throws Out Kesha's Sex Assault Claims Against Producer 'Dr. Luke'

A New York judge on Wednesday dismissed pop singer Kesha's sexual assault claims against her producer, ruling that the allegations don't rise to the level of human rights crimes.

Kesha, who shot to fame with the 2010 hit "Tik Tok," claimed that her producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald drugged and sexually assaulted her, and physically and verbally tormented her for a decade. Gottwald has never been charged and has denied the claims.

Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich ruled Wednesday that the abuse claims can't go forward because they happened outside of New York and the statute of limitations expired.

The judge also ruled the claims don't prove any alleged violence "was motivated by gender animus" under hate crime laws.

"Every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime," Kornreich said in the ruling.

"Her claims of insults about her value as an artist, her looks, and her weight are insufficient to constitute extreme, outrageous conduct intolerable in civilized society," the judge wrote.

Kesha sued Gottwald, Sony Music Entertainment and Kemosabe Records seeking to be released from the contract. Gottwald sued her for breach of contract.

A judge in February denied Kesha's bid to end the contract. Kesha's attorneys have appealed that ruling. Music stars like Taylor Swift and Adele have come to the singer's defense and supported her.

Attorneys for Kesha and Sony did not immediately return a message seeking comment Wednesday.

Gottwald signed Kesha in 2005. In 2013, after "Tik Tok" went platinum and the 2012 release of "Warrior," Kesha stopped working with Dr. Luke and said she was being denied royalties, according to court documents.

The alleged abuse took place in California. Kesha filed a complaint in that state under statutes against of gender violence among others.

In the New York claims, attorneys for Kesha argued that Gottwald and the other defendants discriminated against her based on her gender in violation of human rights laws, and other claims under laws against gender-motivated violence.

Gottwald is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer who has worked with Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and many others.

Gottwald has denied ever having sex with Kesha. In February, he said on Twitter: "Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister."

Hollywood Reporter article in question about Sheen. One of the claims is he's bi-sexual, including sharing a male lover with his ex-wife, and knows he caught AIDS from having sex with a transgender porn star.

Canadian singer Bryan Adams has canceled a show in Mississippi this week to protest a new state law that lets people with religious objections deny services to same-sex couples, the rocker said in a statement.

"I cannot in good conscience perform in a state where certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation," Adams wrote on his website.

A law signed in Mississippi last week allows people with religious objections to deny wedding services to same-sex couples and permits employers to cite religion in determining workplace policies on dress code, grooming and bathroom and locker access.

Adams, who was set to perform on Thursday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, called the bill "extremely discriminatory."

"Hopefully Mississippi will right itself and I can come back and perform for all of my many fans. I look forward to that day," Adams said.

Executives of several major U.S. corporations urged Mississippi officials last week to repeal the law, condemning it as discriminatory.

On Friday, U.S. rock star Bruce Springsteen canceled a weekend concert in North Carolina to protest a new state law barring transgender people from choosing bathrooms consistent with their gender identity.
Bryan Adams can play 15,000 seat venues still? I thought he'd be playing Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants now.

'She can kiss my fat a****!': Former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester slams Michelle Bridges' remarks that she's 'yet to meet someone who is obese and happy'

It's a really long "high quality" Daily Mail article so I'll just post the most important bit:

Image
The naked terrain boasted large pen sketchings drawn onto the skin, with her bum crevice cleverly transformed into a grinning mouth.

A small nose occupied the space just above her bum crack.

And slightly higher up, large beaming eyes were drawn onto each of Ajay's bum cheeks, while the face also boasted rosy-red spots on the apples of the cheeks.

'Michelle Bridges can kiss my fat happy a***!' she wrote alongside the audacious image, as she added the hashtags: Drop the plus' and 'Happy at any size.'
If she drew that on her own arse, that's impressive. If she got someone else do to it it's not so impressive.

Is Lindsay Lohan becoming a Muslim?

Lindsay Lohan is embracing her religious reawakening as she studies Islam.

“I’m a very spiritual person and I’m really open to learning,” the Catholic-born actress told The Sun on her interest in Islam.

Lohan, 29, who was spotted carrying a copy of the Koran while tending to her community service in New York last summer, also said there’s more to the text than what many people have been led to believe.

“America has portrayed holding a Koran in such a different way to what it actually is,” she explained, despite having yet to complete it.

“I’m not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long,” Lohan said.

Though the “Mean Girls” star didn’t divulge fiancé Egor Tarabasov‘s religious affiliation, she did share that younger sister Ali Lohan, 22, also shifted views.

“My sister is Buddhist, but she is interested in learning other things from me. It’s good to be open-minded,” Lohan revealed.

“We all believe in something and at the end of the day, it all ties to a God or a spiritual adviser,” she added.

A rep for Lohan confirmed that she is exploring religions.

“Lindsay has always been very spiritual and is open to exploring all religions and beliefs. She is simply educating herself on other people’s beliefs,” her rep told Page Six.

Finally: A reason to care about the Panama Papers leak—attractive people you know from your teevee screen.

Actress Emma Watson has turned up in the Panama Papers, now available as a searchable database, as the owner of a British Virgin Islands company called “Falling Leaves Ltd.” Her spokesperson said she’d set up the offshore account for “privacy.”

“UK companies are required to publicly publish details of their shareholders and therefore do not give her the necessary anonymity required to protect her personal safety, which has been jeopardised in the past owing to such information being publicly available,” the spokesperson said.

“Offshore companies do not publish these shareholder details. Emma receives absolutely no tax or monetary advantages from this offshore company whatsoever—only privacy.”

According to The Times, Watson used the anonymous holding company to purchase a £2.8 million ($4 million) home in London. She’d have been better off staying at 12 Grimmauld Place!
I know feminists want their 22 cents, but this is a tad extreme.

Ian Halperin is claiming that not only did Frank Sinatra order a hit on talk radio host Howard Stern, but his hitmen actually carried out the hit– on the wrong guy. And he claims he has proof, or at least substantial corroboration for the story.

Halperin, who is a celebrity biographer, says he’s writing a book about Stern that will include the wild story. He’s claiming that the reason for the hit, was a radio rant by Stern about Frank Jr. and Nancy– Sinatra’s kids– in the early 90’s.

Halperin first told the story to talk show host Anthony Cumia on The Anthony Cumia Show on Thursday May 26th, and later to Page Six. “I’m announcing exclusively on your show, I’m writing a Howard book,” he told Cumia. He claims to have stories about Howard’s hair, his relationship with his hairstylist, and Stern’s rumored cold war with Cumia and former co-host Opie Hughes from the Opie and Anthony Show.

He also revealed the Sinatra story on Cumia’s show. “He once pissed Sinatra off, and Sinatra apparently ordered his guys to put Howard in cement shoes, I kid you not,” Halperin said. “On the record from Sinatra’s sources, and the craziest thing is, Ant, apparently they killed the wrong guy. Apparently they actually hit somebody who looked like Stern and buried him.” He’ll be revealing details in the book, but says Sinatra thought Howard was a phony and he has proof. “I hope Howard Stern sues me because I have about 100,000 questions to ask him under oath in court.

“Everybody who ever knew Frank knew he was a nice guy, but you don’t want to piss him off. He had a big temper. And Frank allegedly put a hit on [Stern]. I have extreme corroboration on this,” he told Page Six.

Halperin says the bio he’s writing on Stern will be fair, although on an earlier appearance on The Cumia Show from May 9th, he called Stern “Howard the Coward” and also said he’s “boring”, “miserable” and said “his best days are behind him”. Ian Halperin has written seven bestselling books including a #1 New York Times bestselling bio on Michael Jackson’s final years.

A spokesperson for the Sinatra estate told Page Six that the story is ludicrous.

Amber Heard sues comedian Stanhope for defamation over Johnny Depp

Lawyers for actress Amber Heard filed a defamation lawsuit against comedian Doug Stanhope on Friday after he wrote an article accusing her of blackmailing and manipulating her estranged husband, actor Johnny Depp.

The complaint was filed in Cochise County, Arizona, against Stanhope and 20 unnamed individuals associated with the comedian.

The lawsuit demands a jury trial and says that Heard would donate all proceeds to a battered women's shelter in Arizona.

Representatives for Stanhope and Depp did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The complaint is in response to a May 29 guest column by Stanhope published on entertainment trade outlet TheWrap.com and headlined "Johnny Depp Is Being Blackmailed by Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know."

Stanhope, who said he was a friend of Depp's, wrote that Depp had told him that Heard was leaving him and "threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn't agree to her terms."

"Blackmail is what I would imagine other people might put it, including the manner in which he is now being vilified," Stanhope wrote.

Lawyers for Heard called Stanhope's comments, detailed in the complaint, "completely false and highly defamatory."

The lawsuit is the latest step in the increasingly acrimonious split between Heard, 30, and Depp, 52, who had been married for 15 months.

Heard filed for divorce from Depp in Los Angeles last month, citing irreconcilable differences, and obtained a temporary restraining order against the actor.

She said in court papers that Depp had been abusive to her throughout their relationship, culminating in a May 21 argument during which he hurled a cell phone at her face and shattered objects in her apartment.

The documents included photos of the actress with a bruised eye that she said she sustained in the incident. Heard later gave a statement to Los Angeles police in which she accused Depp of domestic violence.

Depp, one of Hollywood's top stars and box office draws, is currently touring with his band Hollywood Vampires in Europe and is scheduled to perform in Bucharest, Romania, on Monday.

The actor's 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Lily-Rose Depp, supported her father on Instagram last week, posting a photo captioning her father as "the sweetest most loving person I know."
