So what is the big deal if Clinton did fund the research? Is it the because Steele is former MI6?

The main alleged evidence tying Trump to Russian influence comes from the dossier. So it discredits the investigation if the DNC paid a guy for a hit job and then said it was their basis for most of the investigation. Other than that, you just have Russia acting on their own trying to make sure Hillary didn't win. They also used Russian sources, but then said Donald Jr. meeting with that Russian lawyer was evidence enough to impeach him because foreign nationals cannot be met with for a party during a campaign.

Not really. A lot of it has been confirmed and nothing has been disproved. But yeah, how dare she pay for opposition research?

When did I say she couldn't pay for opposition research? I said those being outraged for months about Trump Jr and Manafort's meetings for Hillary info being treason are now excusing members of her campaign actually using Kremlin claims about Trump. I am not trying for defend the Trump administration here, I just really hate the hypocrisy from a candidate who just can't admit she blew it on her own not taking Wisconsin and Michigan seriously and Russia has nothing to do with why she isn't president.

Maybe I was unclear and should have clarified it was the original basis, not that they are still only going on it. John McCain turned it over to the FBI before Trump was in, and it got Carter Page wiretapped. I didn't mean to say it was 100% of the investigation, but yes, it got the ball rolling in the investigation. And it's a needless gift to any defense lawyer of people charged in this. It was easy for them to do it the right way when Obama was in his last months in office.

Paul Manafort has been indicted and will turn himself in to Robert Mueller this morning.

His name appears on documents linked to companies that Mr. Manafort’s firm set up in Cyprus to receive payments from politicians and businesspeople in Eastern Europe, records reviewed by The New York Times show.

Mr. Manafort had been under investigation for violations of federal tax law, money laundering and whether he appropriately disclosed his foreign lobbying.

Wire transfers were in 2012 and 2013, so this doesn't have anything to do with the Trump campaign. And it shows in the Roger Stone documentary on Netflix he's been a shady motherfucker for over 30 years.
