It's weird. When the show started it felt like it was biased towards 1988-98 wrestling which felt like the audience would have been our age. But in 2017 I guess they got a younger fanbase because anything 2000s seems to win. Which makes me wonder what those kids must think when "With My Baby Tonight" is sung.

Doink would be great. But not enough of the listeners appreciate the original Matt Borne version. They'd think "Oh, they're going to talk about the midget Survivor Series match against Jerry Lawler that sucked." But it would be interesting to hear about his falling out with WWF in 1994. I've only heard Billy Jack talk about it, and that guy isn't a reliable source to put it mildly. And it was weird that he said Borne quit because he hated the gimmick so much, but yet he was doing Doink on indies right after he left until he got a cease and desist order from Vince. Then he did a great gimmick in ECW for a month in October 1994 when I first started watching it where Doink drove him crazy so he'd wear the suit and smeared make up and act psychotic. So I think there's more to it than what Billy Jack claimed.

Russo: Dave Meltzer has never worked for a media outlet and doesn't have a journalism degree like I do.

Actually he does have one and has worked for several newspapers, including the biggest newspaper in Dallas in the early 80s. Russo, uh, wrote for WWF Magazine.

Not surprising, just like the other versions of the Bolin Alley it sucked. Brian's good but he's not a miracle worker. Kenny's kids made it hard to listen to.

It was terrible, glad TGBL had the sense to can it.

Kenny's good in small doses but a full biweekly show was too much. It might have been OK if there were more wrestling stories and/or stuff about his carny shenanigans, but 10+ minutes of his son's GF crapping on about why Russo's smart for getting an EPO was painful.
