The greatest of all time. Cornette and Heyman are great, but Bobby was on another level. He could have been David Letterman if he wanted. He was that funny.

That commentary performance will never be topped. Bobby busted his ass to help get Flair over to a new audience.

Bobby was awesome, a million percent agree he was the greatest wrestling announcer. He was hilarious and could have been a bigger star outside of pro wrestling. Bobbys commentary for the 1992 Rumble is often cited as his best work but for me it's the interplay with Gorilla that is his best work like on Prime Time. You could tell they were real friends and Bobby was making his friend laugh with his comments and observations. I'm hoping WWE will rightly honour him on Raw.

R.I.P. Bobby Heenan :(

An underrated Heenan moment: when he was inducting Orndorff he kept getting interrupted by the crowd. One dickhead heckles that he can't understand him (this was after he had part of his tongue removed IIRC.) He quickly shuts the guy down by implying his tongue is tired from giving the guy's wife oral sex. You were an idiot to heckle Bobby Heenan.

The guy who did it actually would continue coming back to wrestling cards held there, and nobody would say that they saw him do it. He even had police around him to make sure that he never did anything again.
So Chicago police sucked back then too, huh.

That last one is very sad, but it was his last appearance in public. He seemed like his spirits were up at least.

Yep very sad to see Bobby that way but that he was still in good spirits is nice to know. These are great

Really interesting listen. Daves obituary for Bobby should be great. I'm surprised Bobby didn't go back to WWE as him calling some of the crud in the Ruthless Aggression era would have been hilarious. But like Dave said because he didn't bury Vince he wasn't asked back. IMO his loyalty should have been rewarded. Bobby would have been great on tons of WWE programming because he had great charisma and was actually funny. They should put out a Network special on his best bits from the old Coliseum tapes and with Gorilla. Or a fan should make it and put it up on YouTube.
