AEW All Elite Wrestling Thread (It's Wednesday...you know what that means.)

They all seem really good dudes who care about the fans so I wish them well with this venture. Should be a super fun show with some surprises. Is this the first wrestler booked show independent of any promotion?. They should make it a yearly event if it pays off and I'm sure it will.

Shane Douglas did the Hardcore Homecoming show in 2005.

And yes, they've already put out plans for a second one. They want MSG but WWE isn't going to allow it so it may be at Barclays.

OK cool, yea the first Hardcore Homecoming was up against the first One Night Stand IIRC.

MSG is synonymous with WWE so they would block them running a show there. IIRC WCW never were at MSG.

Billy Gunn's son Austin will be in the battle royal.

I have SiriusXM and listened to this driving around doing my shopping today. But I couldn't see Cody was a fellow Husky owner.

It was a good show. Every match was good and the crowd was red hot. Omega and Penta was the best match. But even Stephen Amell was probably the best celebrity to wrestle.

You should see it. It was a non-Japanese wrestling show where they went out of their way to make sure the fans had fun and went home happy. That hasn't happened on a show at this high level very often since 2002 when WWE began their "you'll take what we give you" era. It's sad that giving people what they paid to see on a mainstream American wrestling show is being viewed as revolutionary today.

Before watching it I saw people saying it was the best PPV since WMX7. I don't think it was but it was a good show.

Who would have thought that the NWA title would ever mean anything again? Even a year ago when Corgan bought the company most people would have thought the title would remain a minor thing.

Rey was dressed up as Wolverine but when he was doing moves he kind of looked like Pikachu.

-- In an article where they interviewed Pro Wrestling Tees owner Ryan Barkan, Sports Illustrated reported that Pro Wrestling Tees in Chicago generated almost $500,000 during All In weekend (Thursday to Sunday) and sold over 20,000 products.

There's rumors going around Conrad was held up for more money by some people on his shows before they'd go out. The ex-WCW guys were cited, so that could mean Hall, Nash, Jarrett, Buff, Sullivan, Tully, DDP, Konnan, etc. I don't think it would be Bischoff or Schiavone since they have to work with him every week.

We'll find out who it was when they aren't invited back to the next one.

All In info from Dave:

Live Gate: $458,525

Merchandise: Every item sold out, no finite numbers from this

FITE: Grossed more than $1 Million between Starrcast and ALL IN iPPV sales.

Starrcast sold 11,000 tickets

Pro Wrestling Tees did just under $500k of t-shirt sales

Highspots had it's biggest merchandise day ever at the convention

PPV Numbers: Not out yet and impossible to predict due to no prior reference point. Google Trends showed that this didn't have mainstream steam, but no wrestling show outside of WWE has shown that in recent memory.

WGN Zero Hour: 196k Viewers. In line with station's top rated prime time shows, even on worst week of the night for TV and not in Prime time.

Cool video. Looked like SCU had 15 days countdown on their phones, so I'm assuming there will be an announcement regarding All Elite Wrestling then. Apparently their deals are up so they could likely be part of the new promotion. Marty's still under contract with ROH so unless they buy him out of his deal (which seems unlikely) he will have to wait til his deal expires until he can sign with AEW. Plus WWE will probably throw out big money offers to Omega, Cody et al to mess it up. But it will be really good to see another promotion competing with WWE who have the fans 100% behind him them to succeed.
