Thinking of building up 2 pentium 1 rigs just to replay Red Alert.
Computers will be for no other purpose other than to play Red Alert at it's full potential.

And While I am building them if anyone asks me to do any other task I can reply with: "Unable to comply, Building in progress"
The English language had deteriorated into a hybrid of hillbilly, valleygirl, inner-city slang and various grunts. Joe was able to understand them, but when he spoke in an ordinary voice he sounded pompous and faggy to them.

Here's the RRGB video.

Obvs having no RGB is a bit of a bummer, but I could get this for now and invest in an OSSC later on..

The only question I have is: what benefit does this have over directly plugging the console into your TV? Most TV’s have composite and component plugs anyway.

Think it depends on what kind of TV you have and how well it displays 240p. This outputs at 480p with smoothing or no smoothing and will upscale it better than most TVs that can upscale can and it has less lag than directly plugging the console into a LCD TV. PS1 games on the PS2 will work properly through component on TVs that can't do 240p.

If you are happy with the way your old consoles look on your TV I wouldn't bother getting one.

TVs that don't accept a 240p signal will display at 480i instead, resulting in motion blur and transparency effects in a lot of games will look a bit off. I have that issue with my Megadrive ATM.

Also, a lot of new TVs don't carry S-video which is a huge step up from composite. The S-Video going through the line doubler on the retrotink looks pretty nice.

Interesting. I always just assumed that the HDMI would add too much latency and therefore would make the built-in composite connections the better option. I guess I’ve just never messed with it, though, because I still use a CRT for anything GameCube and older.

Again, depends on the TV and whether it has a "game mode". I think the retrotink has pretty low latency compared to other scalers, so it should be fine on a decent HDTV.

You still cant beat a decent CRT and an RGB connection though.

There is so many depressing things about that picture. Toys’R’Us is gone, Nintendo effectively discontinued the Gameboy name, and seeing new first party games priced at only $20
