It doesn't match the scope of the original game at all.
The original game made you forget you were playing on a 2 inch screen in black and green and took you into another world.

These visuals match the scope of a DS game, and not very well at that. We're 14 years past that, and it takes us to 2005.

If they'd made it look like BOTW.. GAME OF THE YEAR! or even gone with VOXELS, or cell shading.
To be clear I'm not a fan of many Zelda games. Only 2 so far.. But BOTW looked amazing and gave me that same feeling of HOLY SHIT, THIS IS A GREAT GAME ON A PORTABLE, and you can never go wrong with cel shading. Wind waker and Phantom hourglass looked amazing even if I couldn't play more than an hour of them.

Even if they just ported the game in black and green (not even the DX version) and kept it the same but made the overview widescreen it would have been more appealing than the current style.
Even if they took the actual fan remake, shut them down stole all the work, and then released THAT it would look better than this.

People Bitched so hard about the sonic design in the new movie, so all their rage for SHITTY artwork that doesn't remain faithful to the original design in ANY SENSE has been used up, so they don't care about the atrocious look of this game..

I'm a believer in gameplay over graphics, so I am 100% getting this.. But CHRIST, it wouldn't have hurt to make it look half as good as the game is.

I don’t know, after watching the second trailer, I’m kinda more on-board with the art style. The second trailer fleshed out more of the feel of the world, and it made more sense after seeing it. I still think it has a bit of a clunky feel to its movement, but I guess that’s not far from the original.

It's good to see someone bring up the fact that scrolling won't be locked down to each screen. For me, it makes the game feel smaller.

The more I see it, the more I fucking hate how it looks, but the more excited I get to play it.

So I'm hearing about slowdown in Link's awakening? SLOWDOWNS!!!!!!
TBH, glad I pulled my pre order.
Not even NINTENDO can make a game from 1993 FUCKING PLAY PROPERLY.

NINETEEN NINETY FUCKING THREE!!!
A game from TWENTY SIX FUCKING YEARS AGO suffering from slowdowns...
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?????????????????
ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH?????????????????????

TWENTY SIX FUCKING YEARS and it can't even play right???
I'm just gonna boot up visual boy advance, and load a ROM of DX.

If Nintendo want people to stop people pirating games, maybe they should focus on making QUARTER OF A FUCKING CENTURY OLD GAMES FUCKING WORK PROPERLY BEFORE they shut down ROM sites.

When you can't trust Nintendo to make a game to a COMPETENT level, That has to be the time to say you are no longer a gamer...

I am no longer a gamer...

QUARTER OF A CENTURY for slowdowns... It's ALMOST comical. ALMOST :ocry:

Wasn't that in the demo?

If there is slowdown, I guess they'll patch it later, like everyone else does..

There are framerate issues in the game. The game is still supposed to be very good.

ian might not have noticed but the game looks a little different than the Game Boy version, which is why it doesn't run exactly the same..

I'm actually going to agree with Ian on this one (well, at least towards framerate). Nintendo has a track record of making many of their first-party games with rock-solid framerates. Look at Mario 3D World, Smash, and Mario Kart as just a few examples. So when they release a game that has a fixed camera, confined areas and a cartoon art style, there is NO reason for framerate issues to exist. None. They can make 8 player Ice Climber battles with items and dynamic stages in Smash never drop below 50fps, but they can't make chibi Link walk through some grass without a drop into the 30's? C'mon...

Too much grass? There's your problem, that's an automatic 7/10 for me.,

Speaking of which, there's a new hack available for the DX version "thumbsup
