I'm not saying you don't know about the music, I'm talking about experiencing the controversy.No offence taken, but again you're coming across as kinda condensing. Hip Hop was big here too,
As for the Reddit post, again, I don't think she was racist because she didn't single out solely black artists. The poster cites a news column about rap, but she wrote an entire book about rock that I don't think even mentioned rappers a few years before that.
I don't want to defend people like her, but if she's after vulgar music that teens like was she supposed to say "Oh, I can't comment on rap because I'm white"? There's plenty of racism in the world, people don't need to make stuff up. We can talk about racial prison sentencing disparities and racial police profiling, not rappers who got richer due to the controversy.
