Gran Turismo Thread

Gran Turismo Sport beta has been cancelled

Kazunori Yamauchi "very, very, sorry" but beta would have pushed the game into 2017.

The planned beta for Gran Turismo Sport has been cancelled in order for the game to launch this year, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has told VideoGamer.

The beta had been announced alongside the game back in October 2015.

"That's something that I'm very, very sorry about," said Yamauchi while talking about the beta. "In order to do a beta test we have to make a gold master of the beta test code, and for us it actually takes as much effort as to finish the real master code of the actual game.

"Just because it's beta we can't just throw it out there. It's required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don't have enough time to do two gold masters for the game. By omitting that it saves us about three months of time."

Asked to clarify if this meant there would be no beta, Yamauchi added: "Most likely I don't think it would be possible. I'm very sorry but that's just how it turned out."

Gran Turismo Sport launches in the UK on November 18 exclusively on PS4.

Apparently people have been complaining that Sport (50% complete) looks exactly like GT6.

That sounds a bit ambitious. They'll probably release a $40 demo around then instead.

So I actually got chosen to participate in the closed beta. Which is pretty cool though I'm not sure how much of it I will actually play. It apparently only runs from 8-11pm my time every night, so I have to make time for it.

Are you on the aerial roundabout GTR or the Snapshark GT?

Here is gameplay of a Gran Turismo 2 mod made by Pez2k, one of the guys helping me with my own modding. This mod does a lot more than anything I've done. There's new colors added to certain cars along with color tiles to go with and scrapped cars added to the base game. In addition, the mod even has new prize cars for certain races. I'll demonstrate more in later videos.

Also, no text commentary here as I just got lazy. Also, I thought it would be pointless to list differences people could probably see themselves.

Here's a quick link to a thread on GTPlanet about the mod itself.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/ ... nt.378282/

Q&A Section:
Q: How can I get this mod?
A: There's a patch located in the thread I left a link for above. You just need to patch it on a European GT2 iso and it should work.

Q: How do you apply the patch?
A: First, download xDelta (software that can patch files to ps1 isos). Second, just select the patch you downloaded in one section and pick the GT2 Europe iso to patch. Finally, pick a location to save it at and give it a name. Now, you have a new modded game to play with. Have fun! :)

Note: I recommend getting this version of xDelta due to being more straightforward to use. I tried xDelta3, but it confused me. Link:

The fact they use up 1/3 of the trailer dedicated to navigating its ugly menus is soooooooo Gran Turismo.
