Don't know if I still have what it takes... To be a pushy Melbourne CBD pedestrian!
Sure back in the day I was conditioned to walk at 9KM/H and barge my way through anything shy of a car/taxi or tram in my way.
Mum with a pram, Teenage loiterers, homeless people, slower businessmen, hawkers and spruikers etc. No problem barging through them all with no regard for any of them. After all I've lived here my whole life and worked in the CBD for a chunk of it, you get used to it...
But I was in the city the other day, and barging through the usual suspects was daunting, but not impossible. But now there is so many homeless just lining the streets laying under blankets, so many tourists who'll be going with the flow then just fucking stopping in the middle of the footpath with no warning or reason, and so many protesters with shittily written signs for various causes.. I actually want to vote against same sex marriage simply for the shitty signs the supporters have written, even though I agree with their cause.
I think I can handle the job (inbound call centre tech support) but I think I'm past being that type of city worker...
What should I do?
