How depressing must it be to be a great, innovative band that worked hard to make every album sound a little bit different and then motherfucking Bon Jovi gets in over you. Aren't the voters supposed to be acclaimed critics and journalists and musicians? Who voted for Bon Jovi?

That sucks for Radiohead and the other inductees who don't make it. It's only their first year of eligibility so I'm sure they'll get in. Think of it similar to the WWE Hall of Fame where those who deserve to go in aren't in yet.

Ed Sheeran now has 3 versions of Perfect in the charts. The original, duet with Beyoncé and duet with Andrea Bocelli in a Italian/English version.

He's probably going to do a Grime remix to make it 4.

Yep with Stormzy no doubt. and I wouldn't be surprised if we get a country version with Taylor Swift, Hip Hop with Kanye or Eminem, a 50s style one with Meghan Trainor, a Rock one with U2 etc etc Im waiting on the Bad Boy remix interpolating an old 80s song, maybe Perfect Strangers from Deep Purple. Get The Franchise in the vid head bobbing with a Phillies cap to the back, repping the EC-Dubya crew.

"Uhh uhh yeah, BAD BOY, we can't stop, cause we won't stop...

I found a love..uhh huhh yeah BAD BOY

Cut to Shane head bobbing holding up the Triple threat hand gesture

a 50s style one with Meghan Trainor
That would be so awful people would be turned off from ever listening to any kind of music ever again. Radio would just become all talk shows.

"All about that Ed, bout dat Ed, Ed Sheeran"

Don't give him any ideas or we will be stuck with 24/7 Ed Radio Truman Show style.

Was just thinking "Perfect" is very similar to "If I Can Turn Back the Hands of Time" musically. Which sounds like an old Sam Cooke song so in theory he could do a door wop/50s arrangement of the show. I'm surprised Kels doesn't have a songwriter credit because its very similar to his song. Kinda like how Sam Smith "borrowed" from Tom Petty for "Stay with Me"

Plagiarism cases are difficult so most people don't bother unless it's painfully obvious. So most of it is uncleared samples since you can't deny those. Like out of all the songs Noel Gallagher took from I think he only had 3 or 4 suits, and just for the really obvious ones like Whatever, Shakermaker and Step Out.

That's true. There's a strong similarity between the Kels and Ed song that I'm surprised he hasn't picked up on it yet. I mean Ed Sheeran does that to quite a few songs, Shape of You sounds similar to Cheap Thrills by Sia. He's already had to settle one plagiarism lawsuit for £16m. Music isn't finite so you can only play chords and notes so many times before it sounds like another song. In theory you could take the chord progressions of any #1 hit and put a new melody over them and not many people would be the wiser. That type of thing is really nefarious though. If it's unintentional then that's OK I guess but when it's obviously a blatant rip off then that isn't cool at all.
