I didn’t even know there were different materials of tapes. I’m sure I always just bought the cheapest.

Yea usually Ferric. One brand I forgot the name, the recording "bled" through to the other side and sounded terrible. These types of tapes looked cool I thought.

Some tapes sound better than the CDs produced in the 80s if you do a side by side comparison. A lot of the earlier ones were from analog sources (they have AAD on them) and you have to turn the volume way up just to hear them.
