This is getting more and more like a badly written political satire now.

have they changed what democracy means without telling us? I was under the impression that when peple voted leave that when the deadline came, we would not that it'd be put off. This crap should have been over with withing at most 6 months of the damn vote

Exactly, instead the Tories are posting Chicken memes

If Labour comes back with BoJo likes a little bit of the bubbly then that would be hilarious.

Article 50 gave the UK a year to negotiate a deal, If a deal had not been reached, then the UK would automatically leave the EU on WTO terms, this was voted for by MPs.

Teresa May was even offered a free trade deal by the EU and she turned it down. There's no good reason as to why this had to be dragged out for over three years.

Amber Rudd Resigned..

Also Angela Smith defects to Lib Dems.

I always thought that if the government lost a majority, then that would trigger a GE? Looks like it's not the case...

You would think so, also the Conservatives have changed leadership for the third time so they have a party leader, who in turn is the Prime Minister, who the public didn't even vote for.

That has happened before, Gordon Brown wasn't an elected, but I agree. Also if an MP defects to another party, that should trigger a by-election for that constituency imo.

You can still govern with a minority government, it's just harder to get bills passed. The same thing happened in Australia. The governing party just needs to do more deals with independents to get things passed.

Yep that's a good point. I guess they make the rules as they see fit :olol:

Parliament will be suspended for 5 weeks

It's happened 14 times since 1900, it's fairly common. It's happened a lot in Australia as well, 4 times in the past decade.

The general public don't vote for the PM, they vote for their local candidate and for the party. The party chooses the PM.
