Re: TV Shows: Renewed, Axed, Picked Up + News
The worst South Park episodes aren't necessarily bad, they are just really boring. And I'd agree, it's a shame that Matt and Trey have been working hard to create something as forgettable as the latest seasons of South Park.
I hate British TV because of how short a series can be, but it's also what makes some of those shows so memorable and great. I think art and entertainment need restrictions to be really great.

I never missed a South Park episode until around season 17, then I stopped watching every episode. I did see most of the season with Garrison and Caitlyn Jenner, but the last season I probably only watched 3 episodes, the school shooting one and the Amazon parody ones.

Yea the last season wasn't very good I thought. I think they are at the point now where they should work on a final story arc then conclude it. Perhaps then if there's enough demand make a movie or two. I do think though the whole dynamic has changed so much that what they were doing say in 1999, 20 years later there's not much more they can do now that's new and/or different. They've exhausted almost every avenue too and unless there's some big story in the world they can build around then it's just them going through the motions.

I actually find this reasoning interesting. You hate it for the very same reason it's good/brilliant...
A long running British show with shorter seasons stays great.
So my Favorite EVER British show is Red Dwarf. Red Dwarf is 31 years old and has had 73 episodes.
Futurama is the best entertainment America will ever, EVER produce. And the original run was 72 episodes from 1999-2003.
I guess when the seasons (series) are shorter, they have to work harder to make great things great, and the American way is safety in numbers.
I don't mind safety in numbers in any way, but a memorable British show can be made in 2-5 series, and a memorable American show has to be AT LEAST 8+ to be considered at least half good.
The problem is, if it's that good, in America it will be drilled into the ground, in Britain, the creator will get bored and make a new show.
I mean, I'd REALLY prefer someone to split the difference. Give us the amount of seasons the British do, with the episode count of the Americans... 4-7 seasons of 20 episodes each... PERFECT.
Not 4 seasons of 6 episodes, or 40 fucking seasons of 22 episodes...

That Jane Fonda show has ended so they need something for the old lady demographic.

Re: TV Shows: Renewed, Axed, Picked Up + News
The new straight-to-series comedy explores what happens when California Gov. Zack Morris (Gosselaar's role) gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools and proposes the affected students be sent to the highest-performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside kids a much-needed and hilarious dose of reality. Lopez and Berkley will return to play their beloved characters A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, respectively, in what sources say are new roles as parents.
Punky Brewster is also getting a reboot
Punky Brewster, meanwhile — earmarked as a sequel to the Emmy-nominated sitcom — has been in development with Universal Cable Productions. Frye is set to reprise her role as the titular character, an orphan who is being raised by a foster father (George Gaynes). The original series created by David W. Duclon ran for four seasons from 1984-1988, two on NBC and two in syndication.
In the multi-camera/hybrid reboot, Punky (Frye) is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self.
The follow-up series is written and executive produced by Steve and Jim Armogida, and Frye will also serve as executive producer along with Duclon and Jimmy Fox of Main Event Media, an All3Media America company.

But only after Zack sells it as a scheme to Screech to win over Lisa She might be living there as an aspiring new-age self-help author.

And just like that, South Park is back in the spotlight by being extremely relevant:Big Boss Man wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 4:53 am Yea the last season wasn't very good I thought. Well, when you think about it, its not exactly new or cutting edge to point out the censorship that exists within China. It's been a known fact for years. In fact John Oliver got "censored" too

With that being said, South Park is satire and not a platform for them to bring about socialistic change(s). There's other avenues existent within westernised culture that they could address too which might strike a chord with the audience and actually bring about a positive change.

Re: TV Shows: Renewed, Axed, Picked Up + News
I was wrong, the past 2 episodes of south park have been hilarious...
Walking the Whites through the ICE detention centre like it was an animal shelter was almost spit take funny and I lost my shit when the Whites put sunscreen on Alejandro.
And this weeks was just as good, I know it was Anti-PC themed, but JESUS.. that woman competing in the sports was perfectly executed.
And then she rips her pants off and starts dancing around in front of the school... And then they had the songs. They should put more songs in south park, or turn it into a full on musical each episode.
I'd give them another 2 seasons just for these 2 episodes.
I have to say, both of these episodes are up there with Season 2's Merry Christmas, Charlie Manson and Season 7's Butt out, which are my favorite episodes of south park!!!
