Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
It's going to be interesting to see what weird shit (or weirder shit) they start doing if AEW and maybe some of the other shows rate well.

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
Yea it will be. I think if AEW starts getting really popular with them being TV-14 WWE may have to switch gears and go back to that again. But the issue they have is I expect Fox want them to still be PG, Mattel and their advertiser's, sponsors etc. would too. AEW have the most to gain right now and they are already ahead since I can't imagine them ending Dynamite on Wednesday with what WWE did yesterday. They have arguably their best roster ever yet come up with the champ being scared of a clown mask and two cuckold angles. It's like watching Russo booked WCW again

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
Meltzer said the cuck stuff is Heyman's idea because he has "a close friend" in wrestling who is going through it. I'm guessing not Brock. Dreamer and Beulah? Raven?

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
Meltzer said AEW had talks with Cain but once WWE added in the Saudi Arabia show money to their deal they couldn't match it. Which is why he's wrestling Brock at Crown Jewel instead of Wrestlemania.

Oh well, at least it makes the next Saudi show interesting.

This Shorty Gable stuff is terrible. I imagine "Shorty" is what women call Vince when they see him with his pants down in tanning salons.

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
According to Meltzer Vince thinks this is going to make him endearing to fans.
And Paul Heyman, who got a guy his height over as the ultimate killer, is there in booking meetings. Imagine if Joey Styles spent commentary time on Taz matches joking about how short he was. But the booking was so good people didn't notice Bill Alphonso was slightly taller than Taz.

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
I tried to watch that PPV last night but it was so boring that I just fast forwarded to the main event and watched the WWE utilize two of its best talents and one of their greatest match concepts and stir all three ingredients together and create a CATHEDRAL OF SHIT that was an absolute embarrassment to all involved. May as well retire the Cell concept for a while. I was sad to be a wrestling fan after watching this poop. God damn fuck this company. I hope AEW does unlubed butt things to it.

Tommy Dreamer doesn't work there. He's the tag partner of Tessa in Impact.

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
I know, but according to the Telegraph hes getting half a million apparently
So I watch the Seth/Bray match and ...
At first it's actually not so bad. But once he pulls the big Mallet out and Seth hits about 50 Curb Stomps it just veers into WTF is this territory. The red light throughout is very irritating for a start. But the ending, I mean, a DQ from hitting Bray with a sledgehammer the fraction the size of the mallet that Bray had. He smashes a ladder into his head, steel chair unprotected to the head, a toolbox but the hammer and the ref calls for the bell. Then when he does the mandible with the fake blood I just had to On a comedy scale it's 5 stars but as a match itself then it has to be one of the worse ever. Take the red light away and make it more about Bray being unbeatable and have him go over then the fans would have popped for the title change. The gimmick itself I actually like since it's hokey but reminiscent of earlier incarnation of Mankind mixed with Taker/Kane. I don't know if in 2019 those type of gimmicks work per se but this match was a waste of time and made Seth look even weaker as champion. No wonder the fans were pissed and chanting AEW. That's a big lesson for any promotion going forward as soon as the fans turn on the product you have to make changes. They should have called an audible and had the ref restart the match and Bray wins then at least it would have had a logical finish. But a DQ in a HITC should never be a factor since it's supposedly the most extreme match in WWE.
It's not the talents fault they do what they're booked to do. But from a canonical point of view WWE have made Seth laughable as a credible champion now. That's one point where they should have him come out, lay the belt down and do a worked shoot on how bad that match was to save face. Then even go on hiatus for a while and turn up in NXT under a mask and "rebuild" his image to the fans so he's seen as credible again. Because right now they have him beat any top contender for the championship it devalues them by association. You need to make things make logical sense otherwise even the loyalist fans will tune out. If this was a 50/60 dollar PPV they'd be an uproar online and WWE would have a ton of refund requests.

That would be hilarious if Dreamer is still being paid because they forgot they didn't terminate his deal like Nailz in WCW being paid for 2 years and never working.

Re: WWE Thread (Spoilers)
well that HIAC ending was a reall piece of....... something still not sure if it was a good idea to prolong the Fiend stuff & enhance it or if Vince just had a stroke part way through cos that ending (& most of the match to be fair) jesus christ, just felt a bit sloppy & unfinished but they ran out of time & had to throw it together

Hey Becky Lynch is pushed as one of their top talent and making a quarter of a mill.
That's just sad.

I doubt it's legit. Jinder on $900k & Braun on $300k doesn't sound right.

It honestly would not surprise me at all. This is the friggin' WWE we're talking about.
