So apparently the Switch hacking scene just blew up last night. There's already Linux builds, a custom firmware, and even a port of Dolphin running Gamecube games at 25fps. The leaked Nvidia Bootrom exploit accelerated everyone's plans by 2 months, so everything is in very alpha stages now, but it's still crazy to see all of this release in 24 hours. My only hope is that piracy doesn't start pouring out and sink Nintendo's sales, as it really, really needs the Switch to be successful.

Software sales from crusty old people will definitely decline, but the average kid under 12 isn't going to be doing USB hacks with their computer. :olol:

This exploit is more difficult than softmodding a Wii or burning CD-Rs for the Dreamcast. If the scene comes up with a softmod or some method that doesn't require a computer, that'll definitely change things.

It will be a popular scene if they're already running Dolphin like melancholy said, especially with the portability factor. The system already supports the Gamecube adapter natively, which means Project M is available. :yep:

Pretty much the same game but for some reason it's now 3 points better.

Apparently this company wants to block the switch from being imported.

Was that the guy who said that he was going to give DKC TF a shitty review regardless, purely on the basis that he wanted a new Metroid Prime?

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7 is coming to the Switch, but not as you’d expect.

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Edition doesn’t run on the console itself, instead runs streaming off the internet. The entire game, including the Banned Footage Volume 1 and 2, End of Zoe, and Not a Hero DLC will be available.

The game is out this week in Japan, May 24th – a western release hasn’t been announced.

Chances of this working in Australia? Basically zip.

According to IGN, it’s a 180 day streaming pass for $18. Plus your game saves are in the cloud and once the pass expires, your saves are (eventually) deleted. What a crappy deal.
