Re: Steam Deck Thread
I was all for commending Valve on a great repairable design, right until they got to the battery. Why on earth would the only part that all Steam Decks will eventually need replaced be the one part they decided to make the most difficult?

Re: Steam Deck Thread
It almost feels malicious after seeing the full teardown, like Valve spited everyone with all that glue.
Somewhere else, a commenter had a good point that it becomes trivial to remove the battery after taking off the screen. But seeing that process didn't make me feel better, with prying the screen out with a suction cup attached.
I'm glad that the ifixit video showed that the teardown isn't impossible after Valve's heavy handed video.

Can it emulate the Dreamcast emulating the NES with NesterDC?

Re: Steam Deck Thread
I'd imagine you could upscale NesterDC to 4K on an external monitor

Re: Steam Deck Thread
The best thing about the Steam Deck is that I already have hundreds of games to play on it, so the cost of games for it would be zero for me.
Too bad that the hardware itself is bloody expensive, which negates the advantage of the software library.

Ok, seeing Gabe delivering Valve products himself is something I could picture in 1998 at the absolute latest.
Valve may not have made any games in the past million years, but it's exactly that kind of stuff that gives people the warm fuzzies.
Kudos to you Valve, even if the steamdeck logo looks like the screw on my tripod, I still want one.
