I remember I bought this when I was 9 and only vaguely knew what marijuana was so the lyrics were pretty confusing.

Pretty cool to see Depeche Mode on the biggest weekend morning show in the US.

I was about to question Todd doing Mike Oldfield, who is very clearly not a one hit wonder, but he explained his reasoning before I could call him out for bullshit, and he got it pretty spot on.

I'm like 99.9% sure all the hate they ever got was for how you remind me and photograph.

I know any time I hear either of those "SONGS" I wish I never had ears, but everything else I've ever heard from them wasn't so much bad as forgettable, including songs from no fixed address.

If it weren't for those two loathsome atrocities, they would have been just another band. And those 2 disgusting "SONGS" got made so much worse by their popularity and airtime.

Even if a local student AM radio station in Utah played either song just one time at 4 am it would have been too much airtime.

But everything else, no beef with you Nickelback. And I'm sure Todd is as on point as usual.

Those songs and Hero are just bland. These are a few of the real stinkers

And that's just a small sampling of their 20+ years of absolute shit. I can provide you with more audio diarrhea if you'd like.

I only like one single Nickelback song, and that’s Leader of Men. That’s it.

XTC burst out of late 1970s Britain with hooks for days. While many of the punk bands around them proudly ignored anything before 1976, they took notes from The Beatles, Kinks, and Beach Boys and reformed them into pugnacious state-of-the-art pop. “Making Plans For Nigel,” “Generals and Majors” and “Senses Working Overtime” made their unique stamp on the UK Charts.

But when XTC stopped playing live in 1982, their career took a much more interesting turn. Unable to sell their Englishness to the UK, instead via calamitous recording sessions with Todd Rundgren and a dismissed b-side, XTC landed a punch squarely below the Bible Belt. This is New British Canon, and this is the story of “Dear God.”
