I think they ended up doing okay with the album Rick Rubin produced didn't they? The new one might do well because they're working with the guys who write songs with Adele and Taylor Swift.
Yeah, I think the whole controversy played favorably for them. Before 2003, the Dixie Chicks were everywhere and had a massive following. But when they spoke out against the Iraq War, it helped them shed that wholesome Nashville image and become a different type of band.

Yeah, I don't really follow country music but they did crossover with Goodbye Earl, probably helped out MTV was playing Shania Twain and Faith Hill.

No, the worst was like 2005 or so when Redneck Woman and Honky Tonk Badonkadonk became ironic hits.

The funny thing was the Mr. Show DVD came out the same time as that stupid Toby Keith song and it was funny how much it was like the Bob Odenkirk Blew Moon song.

The No Limit Chronicles docu-series is very good. It's 5 parts and then will be followed by a DMX and Ruff Ryders docu-series.

Late 90s nostalgia.
