It is some kind of insanity that you think people would forget him.

At this point, the inauguration will be a Zoom call :olol: The parade is already going to be digital, as opposed to Biden driving down Pennsylvania Ave. watching on as Proud Boys get sticked by riot police.

Gee, it’s so great that all these people are finally realizing how terrible he is and how they should stop enabling him...2 weeks before the end of his Presidency.

When I saw the news I had that exact same thought.
I am sure the timing is just a coincidence though, I mean it’s not like these companies deliberately kept him for the hits they got for 4 years.

I'm not very optimistic that impeachment would be a net positive. Trump is irritating to have as a president, but punishing him now will only mean anything if the U.S. comes out of a Biden administration as a better country. Impeaching him doesn't get rid of the partisan hacks in Congress, and I don't think it's punishment enough to deter populism in America.

I feel like the alt-right isn't going to calm down until red states feel at peace, which probably means an increase in domestic spending and meaningful federal projects to boost employment opportunity and job security.

My pessimistic view is that Republicans will continue to rally behind de-regulation and hot-button issues (e.g. immigration, abortion, religion) from the minority standpoint until they can brute force enough elections to gain back Congress or the White House. I also don't trust the Democrats not to fuck up while they have complete control of the federal government, they'll probably lose either the Senate or House (in the next two years?).

They will put some band-aids on some problems, like student loan debt, but probably won't enact any meaningful change while people like Schumer and Pelosi are still around. Neither Republicans nor Democrats want to rock the boat for their corporate donors, but that's just my opinion. I've been angry about U.S. politics since the Tea Party came around about 10 years ago.

I think Republicans are done with him and know the politically smart thing is to impeach him or at least act like they want to impeach him to run out the clock on 1/19.

He's going to fuck with them either way, so his threats about finding MAGA candidates to primary Republicans are pretty hollow since he was probably going that direction any way. And McConnell really doesn't give a shit since this is his last term so there's nothing Trump can do to him.

Also if they impeach him he can't force his way into their 2024 primary, and they really don't want him to run again. They got their three Supreme Court Justices and that's all Trump really had to offer. Everything else was just a headache for them.
