Away from my computer and felt like more yello... And this pisses me off more now. I love you is being misrepresented on Yello's official channel:
if it sounds like it goes from a song to a drum track at 45 seconds.
Here is what is SUPPOSED to sound like, you know a complete track:
It's just sad, because no one else seems to have noticed or cared about the butchering of a fucking masterpiece!
It triggers me just like when they play money for nothing on the radio and take out the word faggot... I'LL BURN YOUR WHOLE FUCKING RADIO STATION TO THE FUCKING GROUND IF I HEAR YOU DO THAT AGAIN!!!

Re: What music are you listening to / buying
I have now become the first person in human history to listen to all of The Buggles, and skip Video Killed the Radio Star in my play through.
I'm not saying FUCK WHAT'S POPULAR... BUT, I guess it's more to do with enjoying a singer or band despite the biggest hit... Yello have about 40 tracks better than Oh Yeah, and the Buggles have 10 better (despite only 2 albums) than Video Killed the radio star...
Had "Technopop" came out on the first album (and not been a 2000 CD reissue) It would have been the greatest selling song of all time, because it is simply perfect.
Come to think of it, I am in the "B" folder so... Next I'll be listening to the Beasty Boys without fight for your right, Bloodhound Gang without the Bad Touch, and the Bomfunk MC's without Freestyler!
I should make this a thing... Because fuck the most popular song!!!

I never want to hear Fight For Your Right To Party again as long as I live. Or Girls.
I was sick of hearing those songs, and then when nu metal was big in 1999-2000 idiot radio programmers were like "Hey, let's put those songs in heavy rotation again because there's white guys rapping just like Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach!"
No Sleep Til Brooklyn and Brass Monkey are still great, though.

I hate R&B, Hip Hop, rap rock, alternative rock and jazz-funk and any other genre people put the Beastie Boys in.Bandit wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:18 pm I never want to hear Fight For Your Right To Party again as long as I live. Or Girls.

I actually don't mind the song... But when people put it on and are like, WE LOOOOOOVE Beastie Boys...
NO, FUCK YOU!!!!
Licensed to Ill is actually one of their weakest albums. (I wasn't a fan of check your head)
Hello Nasty is the best thing they ever did IMO, but Hot Sauce committee Pt 2 is fucking close.
But Fight for your right... Nah man.. I mean its a GOOD track.. But as far as Beastie boys go... GET FUCKED, it's not even in the top 20...

I think that's their second best album behind Paul's Boutique.(I wasn't a fan of check your head)

Re: What music are you listening to / buying
agree to disagree?
here's how it should go:
Hello Nasty (1998)
Hot Sauce Committee Part Two (2011)
To the 5 Boroughs (2004)
Ill Communication (1994)
The Mix-Up (2007)
Check Your Head (1992)
Paul's Boutique (1989)
Licensed to Ill (1986)
In album terms, That's how it has to be in my eyes.
Their rhymes aged like wine as they got older!!! and 80's Beastie Boys were just never as good as 90's or 00's stuff.
But Hello Nasty. from end to end, was amazing.

Paul's Boutique is a masterpiece of sampling. Like the first three Public Enemy albums you could never afford to make it today unless you just put it out for free. So it's a once in a lifetime record, IMO. They only paid $250,000 in sampling fees for 1989, and they were sampling numerous Beatles and Led Zeppelin that would cost a fortune now.

But the Beasties never needed sampling to make a good tune, and sure they could do good work sampling... BUT...Bandit wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 12:37 am Paul's Boutique is a masterpiece of sampling. If you want to talk about masterpieces of sampling, all I can say is: Since I Left You.
No one can come close to since I left you on samples... They made a GREAT album, not just a great sample album.
And the next album would have been AMAZING as well.. IF the gorillaz hadn't have existed between 2000 and 2016

Oh man Boot Camp Clik was the shit in the 90s. Unfortunately their peak years of those guys all putting out great records was the West Coast era in hip hop, so you had to watch Rap City in the afternoon or if you got The Box station to ever see them. But they were as good a collective as Wu Tang IMO.

Yea had it not been for the popularity of West Coast hip hop they'd have got more attention. Pac wanted them on his One Nation album to squash the East & West beef. A Pac/Sean Price collab would have been cool.Oh man Boot Camp Clik was the shit in the 90s.

So I was watching a favourite of mine recently:
Only one person got a reference I made. (What is democracy? What is democracy?)
I've since learned that the kid from Johnny Got His Gun played George Bush in That's My Bush! one of my favourite shows.
He's like the most awesome person ever!!
