I haven't been to either in a good few years, but Jaycar was veering off completely into the toys and tat that dick smith transitioned to last time I went in, but from what a friend has told me, they are actually back on track with electronic components and they can actually order stuff in in a timely manner if a store doesn't have a particulat part. which is what you want.
I will be going to jaycar soon because I want to wire some lights for my slot cars, both Altronics stores in Melbourne are no where near me (40 minutes) but I have 3 Jaycars within 20 minutes.
Well the good news is a Jaycar has opened where the old blinds shop was. So now the only stores closer to me than Jaycar are 711 and Bob Jane T-marts.
Shame to see the blinds store go. Along with the sandwich shop down the road they were the oldest remaining shop in the area.
but now I can easily and quickly do random projects!
If I should Die Hard Arcade before I Alan Wake.
PREY the Lords of Lore my Soul Calibur to Take-Two Interactive.

In the last few weeks I've gotten a soldering iron, another USB encoder, and a bunch of other random crap from Jaycar. I just keep buying random shit
Dang, I might have to unironically buy a 10-pound tube of ground beef at Costco. I've done it before and made my own 1-pound vacuum packs at home for the freezer.
I usually buy my steaks there too, so I might have to do some panic buying for the summer.
