I never really cared about Zool that much. It was OK.

 I will dare to agree with Cal

I think it is great that they're doing a remake on the principle of how absurd the idea is. Plus, half of the game's magic was the blatantly huge sucker ads in the SNES version:

I hope someone hacks those back in :olol:

Zool Redimensioned has been rebuilt from scratch by the Sumo Digital Academy, a talent development programme focused on creating new pathways into the games industry. With guidance from the developers of the 1992 original at Gremlin Graphics, we’ve retained the spirit that makes Zool a cult classic, while adding mechanics we’ve loved from the past 29 years of fantastic platforming games. The result is Zool Redimensioned, a game that transcends time and space - don’t miss out on this classic retro adventure!
Okay, that's a good sign. I wishlisted it myself :osmile:

I remember playing Zool back in the day and not liking it much. I don’t remember why, but I suppose that was its biggest problem: it wasn’t memorable.

Exactly, it is just a meh platformed which the 16-bit era had TONS of. What's next Aero the Acrobat remastered or how about Tempo 64X?

Heck yeah, I'd buy those. Why not B.O.B., too? And we never got that promised Boogerman reboot, either.

Lol Boogerman! Is that actually a decent game or is it just another meh platformer? I remember renting it back in the day for the same reason that everyone else did. Tee-hee he farts and throws boogers! I don't remember if it was actually a fun game though, I'm thinking probably not.

I'm a sucker for cheesy 16-bit platformers and I actually owned Boogerman growing up, it came in a box of Genesis games that my dad bought off a co-worker. I think the graphics really hold up, and I always thought the music slapped.

The gameplay and overall premise are sort of threadbare though. :olol: I have really good memories of the first level, but I don't think I ever stuck around to finish the thing. That might give an indication of its quality haha

They should have called this remake "There is no Dana, only"

(I know it's spelled differently, but I don't care)

It's out on Steam now, and it's cheap.

Ah hell, I'll put my $10 USD down since it's their first title

But I gotta ask what's up with this? :olol:

Finally had a chance to play it, and I'd say it's pretty damn good platformer. It runs much better than the console versions, with the game speed being just fast enough to make it fun.

That’s good to hear. Still won’t play it, but I’m glad they improved it for those that do.

:olol: Can't blame you there. I feel like Zool is some sort of gateway drug to the UK computer gaming scene. Pretty soon I'll be a Jet Set Willy devotee.

Phil's delivery was always awesome.

edit: but my favorite delivery of his was in News Radio where he's trying to quit smoking and screams at Andy Dick.
