Episode 357 - Time to look at some more games that were never released outside of Japan. Once again we'll be looking at games that featured Western IPs that for some reason stayed in Japan.

I've been in a role playing mood, I've tried to get into Grandia 1 again and After 2 hours I just can't do it. Grandia 2 is an all time favourite and I want to love the other games but I simply can't, 1 and 3 just aren't fun.

I was playing some PS1 demos and took a liking to a few games that passed me by, or I didn't like back in their heyday.
I had a bit of fun playing Jade Cocoon: the story of the tamamayamarrau or tamagotchi or whatever and I'll be playing this game when I've finished with an RPG I've finally started playing for real.

Started playing Panzer Dragoon Saga after having my fill of 1 and 2 again in the past few months. Only 24 years too late but that's ok.

I'm balls deep in the second disc, and the game is good, I'm having a lot of fun... But is it hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars good?
I'm not so sure.

The fact I'm 6 hours in and still playing is a good sign because most RPG's I lose interest in after about an hour or so. I've played countless RPGs that simply don't grip me, and this is. So I can call it a good game.

But would I call it a must play? Hard to say at this point. When I get to the end I'll make that call.
But I did love the south park quote (They killed Kenny) when I consider that South Park was in its second season when this game came out I would have loved that reference so much more back in the day.
If I should Die Hard Arcade before I Alan Wake.

How did I never play Burning Rangers untill now?

It's fantastic!

I've been downloading a lot of Saturn games, and while I can still see why it lost to Sony and Nintendo and indeed failed to be half as good as the Megadrive and Dreamcast, there's just enough brilliance in the library to make it a great system.
Dreamcast>Master System>Game gear>Megadrive>Saturn>Sc3000. And once I'm finished with it I'm going to catch up on original Xbox stuff which was also a system I didn't own in its prime and only played at friends houses. And a handful years later when my little brother got one.
