I broke out the DC last night for repairs. And after I fixed it (new battery, bent pins out on control port 1 so it wasn't loose and brushed the whole lot down then inoxed the fan) I put on some good old Crazy Taxi!

I'm now officially old, because Jesus the triggers are stiff, and after half an hour my fingers were hurting.

In pretty much any other racing game you go full throttle and then slowly and gently adjust, but as we all know the only way to get anywhere in Crazy Taxi is constantly to lift finger from accelerator, put into reverse, then quickly put back into drive and jam the accelerator down.

It was savage, and my score was dogshit (still an awesome on the first attempt, but at what cost?) But god damn, I don't want my fingers to hurt, so I might have to play literally any other game.

Saturn 3D control is so much easier on the trigger pressure even if it's worse in every other way.

I don't want my fingers to hurt playing a game I particularly like...
If I should Die Hard Arcade before I Alan Wake.

They're getting closer to simulating the whole 8 to 16-bit experience on modern display. I'd still like to hoard some CRTs, but at least the future looks bright for good facsimiles. Pair a good panel with a proper enclosure like the Checkmate and CRT beam emulation, baby, you got a stew going.
