Sega Model 3 emulation never officially happened... until now. In a DF Retro special, John Linneman examines Model 3 emulation found within Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased his name. Daytona USA 2 and Fighting Vipers 2 are the emulated titles in question, with AM2's classic racer stacked up against the OG arcade version and Supermodel PC emulation. Meanwhile, Fighting Vipers 2 on Dreamcast takes on Like a Dragon's Model 3 emulation. The port is renowned for its accuracy, but does it deserve the accolades?

I’ll be excited after the reviews come in. I don’t trust Sega to make good on promises like this.

A wise decision.

We all know what happened the last time Sega made genuinely great games. They practically drove themselves to bankruptcy in the name of making the best games. The only reason they're still around is because a decision was made to survive in 2001... Unfortunately that has meant mediocre games ever since.

I wish for some new games from Sega. On consoles and PC. With good gameplay.

And I don't want any mobile games. I don't want a F2P timed, online-only "experience." And I don't want any other weird surprises, got it?

I can help them, Sega's roadmap for classic IP should look like this.

2024-2089: re release altered beast on every new platform as they come out with no changes.

2025: Crazy Taxi ultimate. Just make the first game run properly and look and sound as good as it did in arcades/Dreamcast. Second game exactly the same except put Bad Religion back in... Actually, both 1 and 2 can have the full catalogue of Offspring and Bad Religion. They can put the other crazy taxi games in the collection if they want but no one will care what they do to them.

2026: Jet Set Radio Present. New game and remake of future, a movie based on the original game so I don't have to play it again.

2027-2030 same as jet set radio but with every other IP.

2031: GROUND UP Remakes of all the Panzer dragoon games in one collection. ALL OF THEM, including Orta.
And put them in a nice collectors edition with leather covers, statues, posters, and a vinyl record for each games soundtrack.

Preorder bonus for every game will be something nice. maybe a free copy of the newest sonic game? No DLC codes for our preorder bonuses... This is GOOD SEGA FOR FUCKS SAKE! we make proper games, and we do it properly, no half assed shit! And sure we may be broke 5 years into doing it properly, but god damn we'll make some great fucking games!

My Twitter has been a flood of people posting images from Skies of Arcadia along with the ‘AND MORE’ screenshot.

Also, real talk, is there anyone out there that’s actually clamoring for more Golden Axe and Altered Beast games?
