I'll be picking it up when I need a new game to play. The soundtrack has some absolute bangers, Sunshine Seaside is one of my favorite Mario songs of all time:

Re: The Super Mario Thread
I’m off work tomorrow just to play it. It was possibly my favorite Mario game of the last 10 years when it originally released. I doubt I’ll even touch Bowser’s Fury.

Re: The Super Mario Thread
Some takeaways from the first 3 hours of play:
- The speed of this game can get pretty crazy now. I thought the rumored speed increase was going to be minor, but now Peach has the running speed of Toad from the original, and Toad practically feels like Sonic speeds sometimes.
- Cat suit momentum is nerfed, which makes me incredibly happy not having to do endless frame perfect swipe jumps just to get a good time.
- Nintendo really messed up the controls. On the old one, movement was restricted to 8 directions and could use either the d-pad or the analog, which was perfect for an isometric game like this. But on this port, they removed d-pad support and gave full analog movement to characters. Missing platform jumps because you can’t tell if your holding slightly angled sucks, but at least I had an easy solution that solved everything: a GameCube controller. The notches in the GameCube controller make platforming a breeze compared to a Pro Controller. I recommend it to anyone picking up the game.
- The game now remembers stars and stamps you collected, so if you die, you don’t have to keep collecting them. It makes the game quite a bit easier and takes the risk out of some of the stars, since you can die while collecting them. As long as you have enough lives to finish the level, there’s really no penalty.
- Touch function can now be used with a controller. Hitting a trigger brings up a cursor that you can move with the right stick. Which means the entire game can be played using just a Pro Controller (unlike the Wii U version that required the Gamepad for some levels).

My copy arrives tomorrow. Looking forward to trying it out. I didn't play the Wii U version a lot.

Much preferred to the cursed aspect ratio of the GBA port Been playing that one before bed, it's definitely harder when you can't see crap

Dumb.
I was thinking of what else I could say about a completely unremarkable copy of Mario 64 selling for more than the rarest games and prototypes in the world, but I have no other words. It’s dumb.

I'll slab my boxed copy and only charge a third of that amount for it.
