Post your UserBenchmark results
Most of you have probably heard of UserBenchmark before. It is a small program that does a quick benchmark of your PC then gives you the results to see how you compare to other users with the same hardware. I often use the site to compare different CPUs and GPUs.
You can download the application from this link
https://www.userbenchmark.com/Software
It is a small 5.6MB download and should only take a couple of minutes to run. It takes around 3 minutes to complete on my system with 3 hard drives. When it completes it opens your results in a web browser. You just need to post the link to share your results. I'm interested to see everyone's specs and what percentile they are in compared to other users.
Here is my latest benchmark
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37272559
I somehow am in the 99th percentile out of 191,180 tests for the Ryzen 5 3600X. Even more amazing is that I am in the 100th percentile for the Geforce 1660 Super out of 159,026 tests!
My hard drive benchmarks are crap. Always have been for some reason. My Seagate Barracuda which is only a couple of years old comes in at the 8th percentile! Yikes! Not sure what I can do to improve the speed on it though.
Anyways lets see those results! I'm gonna be dissapointed if I come back to check this thread later and nobody has posted anything.

Check out my tree trunk laptop!
UserBenchmarks: Game 13%, Desk 63%, Work 12%
CPU: Intel Core i5-7200U - 55.6%
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 940MX - 10.4%
SSD: CT1000MX500SSD4 1TB - 100.4%
HDD: Seagate FireCuda 2.5" 2TB - 33.5%

It's actually not that bad for gaming. At 720p at least.

You need to post the link so we can see more detailed info. Don't worry I got you covered I actually found your results by looking at recently benchmarked 3600s
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37276448
A new GPU? The GTX 1070 seems to be a pretty good card. Do you play in 1080p or 4K? For 4K I'm not sure but for 1080p it should be more than powerful enough. I'm saying this since comparing a 1070 to a 1660 Super (the gpu I have) it shows the 1070 to be a little more powerful than the 1060 Super. The 1660 Super has been doing great for me. I do however only game in 1080p 60hz. Looks like you might try to overclock it a little since the benchmark results show it to be getting a bit lower of a score than average.
I looked up a video of gaming on the 940MX and yeah it seems like a decent card at 720p. Even Red Dead 2 is playable on it which is impressive. That benchmark makes it seem like can barely run Mafia. Not the recent 2020 remake but the original 2002 version.Dr. Zoidberg wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 5:56 pm

I see you've got 32GB of ram. Did the laptop come like that or did you upgrade it? If you upgraded it then I have to ask what kind of wild things are you doing that require so much ram?

I upgraded it to 32GB, and I don't do anything fancy with it. I just wanted a lot of RAM so I could have a lot of things and tabs open. It's overkill but it works well.

Re: Post your UserBenchmark results
I always have a ton of tabs open as well. Heck right now I've got 16 open. Even when I have a couple windows of Firefox open with tons of tabs on each and a few programs running and maybe even a game minimized I don't max out my 16gb. Right now I'm using 4717MB. Now when I only had 8GB that was a different story. Towards the end before I upgraded to 16GB I was maxing it out quite frequently. Do you monitor your ram usage at all? Just curious what your average and/or max usage is. I'm just curious I don't want it to come off like I'm hating on you for having extra ram I even considered going up to 32GB when I built my current PC but I was trying to build it as cheap as I could with the parts I wanted and figured I could always throw in another 16GB down the road.Dr. Zoidberg wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 7:26 pm I upgraded it to 32GB, and I don't do anything fancy with it. I don't monitor it. It probably would run the same with 16GB.

Yeah I just didn't post the link. I try to play at 1440p where I can with my dual 1440p monitors, but some games have to run in 1080pCalavera wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 7:12 pmYou need to post the link so we can see more detailed info. Ok you win. I thought having 30 or so open was getting pretty crazy but you're on a whole nother level!
Here is another run of the same system I did just for kicks. I call it the super underclocked edition!
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/37283243
Ryzen 5 3600X @ 800mhz 0th percentile
GTX 1660 Super with both memory and core set to -502. Also in the 0th percentile.
Imagine actually running the 3600X @ 800mhz all the time. An 800mhz hexacore CPU

Re: Post your UserBenchmark results
I keep trying to run this test, but for some reason it will only bench my processor and GPU. It fails to test all 5 of my hard drives and it reports my RAM as an unknown brand. So my test result is 0%, which is pretty useless to list here.

News paper will make too much noise.
I made the system as quiet as possible in an old antec sonata with some very good noctua fans running so slow I can stall them by breathing too hard.
It makes no noise. but the CPU does kinda cook itself under even low end computing.
so I will hear nothing untill it explodes.
Pretty sure I now have the oldest computer on the forums

Re: Post your UserBenchmark results
I just ran another one to compare it to the one I posted in this thread
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/46615517
My gaming has went from 81 to 78 percent!
Desktop went from 95 to 97 percent.
Workstation went from 76 to 73 percent.
My CPU is in the 98th percentile and my GPU is in the 99th percentile which is pretty amazing.
As usual my drives score way lower than they should. Even my M.2 drive is scoring in the 40th percentile.
