Intel's marketing have lost their minds.

https://www.techpowerup.com/235092/inte ... slide-deck

"We are not threatened by the competition" -Intel, Early 2017. not at all. :olol:

Image
Poor track record. inconsistent provider. (Just ignore anything with 'Opteron' in the title) And my favorite part 'Repurposed desktop product for server' it was actually the other way around. :olol:

Here's a slide where they are comparing their Xeons, against problems with consumer Ryzen parts.
Image

And the icing on the cake of a marketing team going into meltdown:
Image
Comparing the performance of a $2200 USD Server chip (Intels RRP) to a $499 USD consumer chip. (which could be had as cheap as $420 when intel released this press kit)

Intel are just going more batshit crazy as the months roll on.. This is a bulldozer level of failure marketing.

The only Nvidia I think I've ever owned was a Geforce 2 GTS.

New Ryzen 3000 series are out. (as is the RX 5700 GPU's) CPU's are good, GPU's are not quite as good.

Time to buy a now computer is now, with the 2000 series Ryzens being thrown out!

I got a 2600X and a mobo for a song, and I should be able to slide right into a 3000 series in a few years. I also got a 1 TB M.2 drive for $80 during Prime days, the gettin' is good right now.

Yeah, everywhere is having mental clearances (both new and used), the getting is really good.

I'm hoping to get any mid-upper 65w part (gen 1, 2 or even 3 however unlikely)for $100
Ideally I'd like a 1700, but am looking at 1600 1500X, 2200G, 2400G 2500X or 2600.

Just waiting for the right one to upgrade my little ITX box (and all of them would be an upgrade... it's got a piddly A12-9800 APU and an RX580 in it, the APU is holding the card back... none of the Ryzens I'm looking for would.

I don't even need to upgrade my main, very happy with my 1800X, but might sidegreade? to a 3600X.
Sure it's only 6 core 12 thread.. BUT it does only use 65W and has a higher clockspeed so I'd be able to use a quieter cooler and smaller case.

The really great part is, my 2 year old board works on new CPU's.. I haven't seen that at the top end for a while ahah.

I'm using the 2200G alone for a micro ATX emulation box and it does great with run-ahead and shader support. I think it's a great low-watt powerhouse, definitely happy with my purchase. With this case, I can pack it up into a backpack with my Switch.

I've heard great things about 1700 over on /r/buildapc and /r/buildapcsales, they can push 1080p/144hz with a 980ti or 1060 6 GB. Now my i5-2500K/GTX 760 can finally become the Plex machine / casual gaming PC for the girlfriend it was destined to be.

Yeah I know how great the 2200G is, I bought a friend one after I'd played around with my A12, They're a damn decent chip for how cheap they are, and you can ramp the cpu bit up more if you turn off the GPU as well. (since I have a 580, that is what I would be doing anyway)

My Case is a little monolithic compared to yours. But was the smallest thing I could find that could fit proper GPU's. if I take the handle off it even fits in my TV cabinet.
Only thing stopping it from being my main rig is my PSU.. 500w is not gonna power an 1800X and vega 64 comfortably.
but if I got a 1700, overclocked it and used a 1070, 1080 or new 5700, it would be as powerful as a full size build.
Or keep the 580 currently in it and just find any cheap ryzen is my go to.. but really hoping for a 1700 for $100ish (I'd go over budget maybe $20 or so for a 1700)

Mainly emulators and media box atm, the 580 is way overkill, but maybe with a 1700 I could make it my main and retire the 1800X and 4790K

AMD could be refreshing the Ryzen 3000 lineup with new SKUs, rumor claims. The user HXL (Twitter) today published the names of the new Ryzen 3000 SKUs.

The dates mentioned in a retweet are actually from ASUS marketing person posted on Chinese Weibo. Those ‘big days’ refer to AMD B550 motherboards launch and availability. However, it is likely that Matisse Refresh could arrive close to those dates as well
