Re: Nintendo General Thread
I’m actually most excited by that Murder By Numbers game. It’s like someone took a handful of my favorite games and combined it into a new game.

I’m confused. If Bravely Second wasn’t a sequel to Bravely Default, then what was it? A spin-off?

Bravely Second was the sequel. They are just naming them weirdly.

I can’t believe we still don’t have Mario 3D World yet. They would have to mod out the touchscreen feature (else handheld mode would get an unfair advantage on the leaderboards) but beyond that this seems like an obvious port that just hasn’t happened.

Re: Nintendo General Thread
After Super Mario 64 was finally decompiled back into its source code, it was discovered that Nintendo failed to use the O2 compression method when they compiled the game originally. This knowledge has existed for months, but now there’s a way for anyone to get the benefits of an O2 compressed Super Mario 64 with a simple xdelta patch rather than command line kung-fu in unix.
This patch almost completely erases the lag in Super Mario 64, including the lag caused by the infamous Bowser sub, which now runs at nearly full speed even when the entire sub is in view.
