Re: The Classic Wrestling Thread
They should have cloned Ernie Ladd so he could be cutting grouchy promos forever.

Ernie would be so controversial today with the "Wahoo, you drunk Indian! I'm gonna stomp your teepee!" stuff.

Re: The Classic Wrestling Thread
I was watching an ECW from August 1997 with a good Terry Funk promo. He's talking about coming back to wrestle in Florida and says "The last time I was there was against that thick pig lipped cracker Dusty Rhodes" and I laughed. I love how his character was always angry at Dusty even when Dusty wasn't there.

Re: The Classic Wrestling Thread
There's a triple threat match on youtube with him and abby and dusty where Funk livens the crowd up by going on this absolutely insane rant about how much he hates 'that fat fuck' Dusty and hates Abdullah too but thinks they should team up and kill dusty because he hates 'the fat slob' even more.

Re: The Classic Wrestling Thread
His ECW stuff isn't on youtube, but he has some great stuff from 1997. The promo before Barely Legal where he promises to win the ECW Title at his father's grave was definitely in his top 5 best promos.

Re: The Classic Wrestling Thread
I think he's very underrated as a promo guy. Another cool thing about Terry is at the Banquet they had for him in ECW he came across as humble and had no ego whatsoever. He also had kept himself relevant from the beginning of his career really to present day. Mox watches a lot of Funker matches apparently and if they can re-create the Funk/Flair angle in AEW with him and say Kenny that would be cool.
