Yeah it's been shitty forever, as we've known for a long time thanks to shoots, the dirtsheets, the sleaze thread etc., etc.

The more mainstream wrestling audience probably didn't know though, so the news of the past few days should help clean things up.

It will depend on if the media covers this story. Right now only the UK media is covering it and WWE can just fire the NXT UK guys and it really doesn't matter since they aren't popular any way. But if someone did pick up that WWE is pushing an accused rapist they'd fire him because they do not want a major news outlet digging into their sordid company and their thousands of skeletons in their closet.

The sad part is because its wrestling the mainstreams interest in this story will be minimal to non existent. Best case scenario here is that there are police investigations and those responsible are brought to justice. What's another sad aspect of this story is that inappropriate behaviour (and worse) was likely known about & in some instances "the boys" even covered it up.

There really needs to be a documentary (even a documentary series) made for like Netflix or Amazon were it draws more attention to all these stories and which will expose the toxic culture within the business and the perpetrators. Then if it draws mainstream interest it may force the hand of WWE, AEW etc to really clean the business up. Because I unfortunately see this being swept under the rug again. It's more so up to the entire wrestling fan base now to really make a stand to not support the wrestlers/promotions who are involved. Then there will have to be a change made, especially on the indie scene where most of these allegations have taken place.

There also has to be a zero tolerance policy across the board and that begins from the very top and the bottom of the pyramid with the training schools/academies. Also any allegation, however serious, needs to be investigated. Historical allegations need to be looked into also. I am hoping SpeakingOut will be a positive catalyst for change. But again starting from the top unless WWE, AEW etc take this seriously nothing will ever change. When this toxic culture has been so ingrained for so long and there's apologists for "the boys" behaviour within the industry it's going to take time to really eliminate every single predator. It has to be known that that type of behaviour is abhorrent and anyone who partakes has to be taken to task & blacklisted from the business.

Of all of the things that came out this doesn't even rank. He should personally apologize to her and then just make a point to not be offensive in public.

That's all he should do. When Sasha accepted his apology, so it's over. He was 22 and talking like a idiot gamer on an obscure podcast. There's bigger issues now.

Oh don't worry, I'm sure this will get blown out of proportion and he'll get fire from AEW and blackballed from wrestling instead of what common sense would dictate, which is 'hey he made a mistake, but he's grown up and apologized like a man so let's at least commend him for that.'

He has been indefinitely suspended without pay.

Am I a horrible person because I worry that some of this shit is either blown out of proportion or at some point will be falsified because wrestling breeds this kind of fuckery?

Some of it will be fake. The Cornette stuff has kind of fallen apart since these guys weren't in OVW when he ran it. Maybe Jim and Stacy were aggressively recruiting guys to fuck her, but he did not have the power then. Al Snow had bought OVW by then and I don't even know if he likes Cornette anymore.

And Meltzer laid out a cryptic warning a group was looking hard into the past of "someone who is not a wrestler and new to the business" which I interpreted to mean Tony Khan.

But a lot of it is also real. Joey Ryan certainly did something. David Starr gave a horrible defense of himself and then went into hiding. And who knows about Matt Riddle. But now they're going after him for infidelity, which who gives a shit if he cheats on his wife like 85% of wrestlers.

It's important but liars and people with an agenda will fuck this up and people will stop paying attention. Happens every time.

This first one is not a surprise at all.

There's going to be a lot of blackballed wrestlers after this. Maybe they will start there own company. Pro Molester Federation or something like that.
