fpPS4 is yet another Playstation 4 emulator for PC, available for download

Developer red-prig has released a new Playstation 4 emulator for the PC, called fpPS4. According to reports, fpPS4 is an open-source PS4 emulator, and currently runs two commercial games. These two games are Sonic Mania and We Are Doomed.

fpPS4 is the fourth Playstation 4 emulator that has appeared online. The other three are Kyty, Spine and GPCS4. All four emulators are in a very early stage, so don’t expect to emulate any of the triple-A PS4 games on your PC anytime soon.

Nevertheless, it’s cool witnessing more emulators popping out.

You can download fpPS4 from here or here.

fpPS4 requires a 64bit operating system, an x64 CPU that supports AVX2, and a GPU that supports the Vulkan API.

Have fun!

Anyone here ever tried the emulator Teknoparrot? It emulates Windows PC based arcade machines. Many Sega ones. I've had it for quite awhile and there are some pretty cool games it can run. Just recently I discovered H2Overdrive

Like the title of the video says it is basically Hydro Thunder 2. If you liked Hydro Thunder you'll love H2Overdrive. I highly recommend it! Also if anyone does happen to try it you should know that you can save your progress using the built in PIN number thing from the original arcade machine.

I tried it a few years back when my son wanted to play some of those Fast and Furious arcades. It was fun for an afternoon, but it was pretty buggy and wonky with the graphics. And at the end of the day, they are arcade games. They aren’t really designed to provide long-lasting entertainment.

It runs pretty much perfect as far as I can tell now on the latest version of Teknoparrot. Sure most arcade games don't provide long-lasting entertainment but what is wrong with that? They are fun to fire up and play for a little bit every once in awhile. Crazy Taxi,Daytona USA, Outrun 2, The Cruisn' series are all arcade games but are still good games that are fun to play. One of my favorite arcade games to play is Emergency Call Ambulance and it can be beaten in like 10 minutes or so one you are good at it. Maybe I'm taking it the wrong way but it seemed like you are kind of like hating on me or something for recommending H2Overdrive.

I tried it and either I'm dumb or the documentation was poor. I managed to get a Daytona going on it but I also got a heap of virus notifications too, so who knows what happened there. I was looking for the best way to play some linked Daytona because I think Teknoparrot can do that? In the end PS3 emulation with Daytona USA was the best outcome, worked perfectly with online play.

Uh what? You asked if anyone had tried it. I told you I used a several year old build to play Fast and Furious and it technically worked, but wasn’t an experience I bothered messing with again. How do you translate that into hating on you for playing something actually good on a better version of the emulator?

Cemu v2.0 Experimental: Open source !

Changes:

Major:
– Cemu is now open-source!
– Preliminary Linux builds are available, but be warned that they are still very rough around the edges
– Going forward, we simplified the versioning a bit by using shorter version numbers (2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3..)
– Updated all dependencies. Most notably SDL (input & motion) and wxWidgets (UI).

Other changes:
– Fixed a crash in the H264 video decoder. Resolves crash on Smash title screen
– Made nsysnet a little less crash prone. Fixes crash in Call of Duty: Black Ops II
– Fixed a logging related crash that could occur under very specific circumstances. Seen in Wind Waker if letting the game idle on the title screen for 2 minutes.
– Fixed a crash that could happen when the path to Cemu.exe contained unicode characters
– Fixed a crash that could happen when loading .elf homebrew
– The account list in the title manager save exporter is no longer empty
– Latency for wiimotes should be a bit better now
– Added symbol/function list to debugger + other small debugger/assembler improvements
– Implemented API: coreinit.FSOpenFileExAsync (used by some homebrew)
– Many more under-the-hood changes and fixes
– Some more work towards a Stop&Restart emulation feature. Not ready yet but we are getting there

Note:
(#xx) refers to resolved bug tracker issues. See http://bugs.cemu.info/projects/cemu/

XBSX2 is a new PlayStation 2 emulator developed exclusively for Xbox Consoles via developer mode. It is a fork of PCSX2 and has a ton of enhancements and performance improvements. If you're a fan of the PlayStation 2, then you need to check out the XBSX2 PlayStation 2 emulator.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting to just load up Windows 95 on my phone like that. That was surreal.

AetherSX2 development is indefinitely suspended.

Due to neverending impersonating, complaints, demands, and now death threats, I'm done.

You can still download/use the app and it will continue to work for the forseeable future.

AetherSX2 was always meant to be a fun hobby for me, not profit driven. It doesn't make sense to continue working on a hobby which isn't fun anymore.

Stay safe out there, and watch out for scammers, there seems to be a lot of them.

(e.g. there's multiple people claiming to represent AetherSX2 on various social media - they are not legit)

Thanks to everyone who wasn't a d*ck for the last year.

Current build downloads are still available at https://www.aethersx2.com/archive/ - please follow good security hygiene and don't install APKs from random sources.
