Rayman 4 was in development back in 2005/2006, but it was canned in favor of the "Raving Rabbids" spin-off.

They probably ended up making more money going with Raving Rabbids.

I never got into Rayman games. I don’t know why, it seems like a series I should love. But I’ve never played much of any of them.
