It's my backup card. My gaming PC has a 6900XT and my lounge TV a 3060.

I'll leave it to ian in my will

I'll be dead by then. My backups are mostly 1070s of various descriptions (3 of these GB and an MSI somewhere)
Failing that there's some RX580s somewhere... failing that R9 290 somewhere... Failing that an R9 280... Failing that an R7 260X... failing that... Well nothing less than that is usable in any sense for any modern task.

a) have you done;
b) are you planning?
I've done too much overkill in computing to even know where to start. I guess 3 way crossfired water-cooled R9 290X's on an Asus Sabertooth x99 with an i7 5820K to play solitaire was the most batshit favourite thing I've ever done.

Fitting a 360mm radiator custom EK water-cooling loop to a Celeron 700MHz was up there in the pointless fun stakes too.

I'm currently thinking about Buying a threadripper system just so I can use all my 1070s.

I mean I could just go out and get a single 4080 and wipe the floor with with even 20 1070s...

But I'd rather 3 Ferrari F40's over 1 LaFerrari any day of the week.

Might buy a steamdeck just so I can play untitled goose game in bed and then get bored with the system when I've finished it.

Although I think he said more like: “I haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about, Phil. Not a fucking clue. I have a shell the size of a fist in my head. The only way I can get this toupee to stay on is by magnetising, the upper left quadrant of my skull. So you just go ahead and do what you do. Do you have any soup?

You are younger than me and I've been getting serious headaches for 6+ months, so who knows you could easily outlive me :olol:

It's replacing a LG ThinQ V50, which is still good but it's almost 4 years old now, so it was time for an upgrade.

Not sure if this counts as tech stuff but it is electronic, I bought myself an e-bike today. Bit on the cheaper side because the last time I rode a bicycle I was in high school and I haven't yet pulled the trigger on what motorbike I'll be buying next.

I think it's legally required for you to buy a harley davidson fatboy.

I bought a Ryzen 5 2400G recently because my lounge media PC crapped out. When it arrives I'll buy some sort of motherboard to put it in.

My thoughts on Harley's is that they're unnecessarily loud :olol: A dude I used to work with was all up in motorbike culture, fairly certain he was part of multiple clubs, owns/owned a bunch of Harley's throughout his life. He said if you drop one at the lights it's pretty embarrassing because of how heavy they are to pick up. Knowing my luck, I'd do just that and need someone to help me right it :olol:

But think of how cool you'd look with a shotgun as you drive through storm water drains while saving/killing John Connor!

Would I save John, then kill him? Or the other way around? It would be funnier saving a corpse

Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Tiny
512GB SSD

A$99 for the M93p Tiny. There's a bunch of cheap old mini PCs available at the moment on Aus ebay.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767189

It's going to be a nice lil Batocera box.

I pinched a few of these from work when they offshored our entire company :olol:

Batocera runs great on it

Very nice. :olol:

It's the system ETA Prime used to do videos about all the time. Everytime I would look on ebay for them they would be $200+, which was more than I wanted to pay for something I was just going to screw around with.

I wonder if 10 years from now the current Ryzen APU boxes will be at $99?

To my great annoyance, some dark stains have appeared out of nowhere on my old Dell monitor. Like the plastic is degrading or something. No idea if it can be fixed, and I don't know a good technician who can find it. So for now I decided to do a little upgrade and got this.

Samsung UR55, aka UR550, aka LU28R550UQLMZD. Or whatever. Anyway, this is pretty great: 28", 4K, IPS, HDR, Freesync. Only the stand kinda sucks, so I plan to get a VESA stand later. Sadly, quality monitors are stupid expensive here in Brazil, this one sells for a very stupid $400 (versus $250 in the US). But I got it for a somewhat less stupid $345 as it was a floor model.
