Re: Wrestler Death thread
I sure do hope he's in heaven licking the angels and doing the bushwacker dance and not trying to maim them with barbed wire and chairs in his pre-wwf days.
Great wrestler, great talent. Underrated. RIP.

It's funny, they said people always came up to them and said they must hate having to do the Bushwackers gimmick and they said "No, we love it. We destroyed our bodies doing the Sheepherders matches. Now we just do a silly walk and the easiest finishing move in wrestling, it's great."

Not to mention having kids love them had to have felt good. As the Sheepherders they legit terrified people.

Re: Wrestler Death thread
Ahhhh fuck man.
I was a member of the DVDVR chatroom and boards for years. Without Dean I wouldn't know as much as I do about the business or care for it so much. Nor would I have the love that I do for women's wrestling. He was always so cool to me too, talked with him more than once and he always threw match recommendations at me and wrestlers to look for.
Fuck, I probably wouldn't have gotten into Japanese wrestling at all if not for him.
This is a huge loss to the wrestling scene. And this one hurts.

Yeah, really bad to lose him and Matt this year. Their passion for wrestling made me look like a minor casual fan in comparison.

Idk if I ever interacted with Dean on the DVDVR board but he had such a presence on there. Wrestling was his thing and reading his posts made you enthusiastic about it too. Sad he and Matt have both passed this year
RIP Dean

...now I'm wondering if I ever interacted with Nicole Matthews on the forums or in the old #dvdvr IRC chat.

Re: Wrestler Death thread
Without him there would not be a US wrestling scene like there is today. The territories would probably still be going. Hard to believe, but he really did have that big an impact on wrestling. There would be no Hogan, there would be no Flair, no HBK, and the list goes on.
RIP to one of the icons. Best promo man ever. Loved his book. Wish I hadn't lost my copy I'd read it again. Love him.

Superstar was incredibly influential, if it weren't for him they'd be no Jesse, Hogan, no Big Poppa Pump among others and his look & physique changed the business too. One of the best talkers, which again was a big game changer. Definitely one of the all time greats and paved the way for what modern wrestling is today due to his promos and his look.

Oh fuck that's sad. That woman was a QUEEN. She helped out a lot of talent and never got the love for it over the decades. Seriously underrated in the ring. This is heartbreaking. RIP queen.
