Also Happy 25th to Grim Fandango! A somewhat under appreciated classic. It probably didn't need a remake a little while back, but I'm happy it has one.

This is how lazy and unmotivated I've become. Back in August 2002 when I signed up for DCEmulation I was playing through Grim Fandango. Who knows what number playthrough it was at that time. I first played it back in 2000 when I got it as a bonus for pre-ordering Escape from Monkey Island so it was probably like the 4th or 5th time just guessing. And I was enjoying the heck out of it, so much that I decided to use Calavera as my username and have been using it as my online name on all kinds of sites for the past 20+ years.

So lately I thought about playing through it again. There is a remastered version so that would be the ideal way to play it. How did I end up "playing" it? I watched this video


It is sad that I couldn't even be motivated enough to play through it myself and just watched a "movie" of it to experience the story. I've only done that with an adventure game one other time and that was with The Dig.



That was mainly because I hadn't played The Dig in many years and didn't want to wander around the map for hours trying to figure out the puzzles. The Dig playthrough actually makes for a decent movie.

You realise that one day it will be practically impossible to connect a CRT to modern tech. They will just be incompatible.
