Really cool find, it's definitely Prince too he had the same expressions and mannerisms when being interviewed.

How are you going to charge people for only 20 albums? Death Row wasn't No Limit putting out 86 albums a year. Sure, most of what they put out was an all-time classic, but you're not going to be paying $10 a month to listen to Tha Doggfather every week.

All Eyez on Me and Makaveli are still on multiple streaming as ownership is now Amaru Entertainment, Inc.I assume any unreleased tracks are owned by his estate too. Majority of hip hop fans got The Chronic and Doggystyle on physical media so Snoop doing this seems nonsensical :olol:

The only thing I'd be interested in is if they put up the 1996 unreleased Dr. Dre album that never came out because he quit to make Aftermath.

Does Death Row own the rights to it, since instead of Suge putting out Chronic 2000 (around the time of 2001) to mess with Dre he'd have put that out instead. There could be unreleased music by other DR and affiliated artists like DJ Quik and Kci & Jojo/Jodeci but I believe they were under contract to Uptown/MCA still at the time but now maybe they can put songs/albums out from the vault. The real selling point would be some unheard Tupac songs but I believe Pac's mom Afeni made sure the estate has the rights to his music. Although Pac and Snoop were cool I don't think any music would be released via Death Row. Most likely through Universal Music Group who Amaru Entertainment is apart of.

Yeah, Snoop doesn't own any Tupac song. Afeni Shakur got those (and with her passing away I assume Tupac's brother Mopreme has input.) Although Amaru Entertainment was not allowed to release a remastered All Eyez On Me or Makaveli as they were all of the Interscope albums due to a dispute with Suge (and later the company that bought Death Row in bankruptcy in 2011.)

As for the unreleased album, that's a good point about why Suge didn't release it in 1999 up against Chronic 2001. Maybe regardless if Dre owned it or not he would sue to stop the sale which would be expensive and ruin the release even if Suge won in court. All I know is Suge always claimed Dre signed away his rights to everything recorded for Death Row to get out of his contract right before Tupac was shot and announced it at the MTV Video Music Awards. Then Tupac did the "Its no longer Dre Day" interview as Snoop sat there silently looking miserable because he was still friends with Dre.

The supposed track listing for the unreleased album (allegedly titled Tha Godfather so maybe Suge called the Snoop album Tha Doggfather as a diss?)

01) Intro (feat. George Clinton & Chris Tucker)
02) Da Godfather (feat. Baby S)
03) California Love (Original Solo Version) feat. Roger Troutman
04) Split Personality (Dr. Dre & Mr. Ski) feat. E-A Ski
05) My Life (Smokin' Weed 4 Hours)
06) It's Entertainment (Skit)
07) Monay (feat. King T. & Dawn Robinson)
08) Street Scholars (feat. J-Flexx & Sam Sneed)
09) Zoom (Original Version) feat. Snoop Doggy Dogg
10) 211 (Skit) feat. Nancy Fletcher & Fingas
11) Natural Born Killaz (Original Version) feat. Sam Sneed & Ice Cube
12) Blueberry (feat. Snoop Doggy Dogg & Sam Sneed)
13) Game Over (feat. Scarface, Too Short & Ice Cube)
14) House Calls (Remix) feat. Baby S & the Casino Crew

Some of it was released. Dre took Snoop off of Zoom and put LL Cool J on it. Suge took California Love off of the album early on because he said Tupac needed a big first hit single. And Game Over was released on Scarface's 1997 album. Also one of the beats on here may have been taken by Suge to use for U Can't C Me for Tupac.

Yea also Suge put out that Dead Man Walkin Snoop album with unreleased tracks when he was on No Limit so Dre must have took it with him or was going to sue if he did bring it out.

Snoop is saying they'll be a Death Row app. I don't know if it will include unreleased tracks but their catalog is very small compared to other labels

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_R ... iscography

Pac's estate have the right to his music so unless Snoop works out a deal with the estate and Universal then that won't be on the app. If he manages to get the rights to unreleased Tupac music that could be a incentive for fans to join up. However, I think quite a lot of the unreleased tracks have leaked. If there's like behind the scenes footage of making the albums etc that would be cool to see. But again any Tupac footage I'm assuming his estate owns that too.

A new behind the scenes Death Row doc would be interesting but the BET one covered quite a lot of the story already. So maybe deluxe physical releases of the albums and music videos etc on Blu Ray etc would be a better idea. If Snoop can get Dre on board he might agree to his unreleased album coming out via the app.

With Tupac I think everything leaked that wasn't released but a lot of it is in bad audio quality so Snoop can advertise good versions of those songs for the first time.

His story about Steven Spielberg having his own personal fire department for their neighborhood was interesting. That's some baller shit to be so rich you pay guys to sit around 24/7 in case there's a wildfire.

On this day in 1982, Hall Of Famers Duran Duran released Rio. A great album.
