Re: NWA Thread
Yes it was fun and going forward I think they would have done more cross promotional stuff with ROH and possibly New Japan too. Billy hasn't confirmed it himself yet but with the Lagana & Bram allegations and them releasing people it's not looking good unfortunately.

Re: NWA Thread
I'm not surprised. Billy is probably hurt pretty bad not being able to tour for the foreseeable future. So he needs to be holding on to his money right now since NWA can't turn a profit being a internet show with 1 PPV a year.

Re: NWA Thread
It's a shame too because Billy put a ton of effort into making the NWA a viable alternative and if the pandemic didn't happen the NWA would no doubt be firing on all cyncliders. I imagine he could just go on hiatus and comeback at a later date. However a lot of the guys and girls will be hired elsewhere.
I won't be surprised if AEW picks up Nick Aldis and you could have Tim Storm coming in challenging Cody for the TNT championship. Eddie Kingston as a manager/enforcer for a faction would be good too. In fact you could have a LAX style faction with Eddie, Homicide, Ortiz & Santana.

It would be a good angle if Arn turned on Cody and brought in Aldis.

Re: NWA Thread
If there was a working agreement between AEW and the NWA, having Nick turn up with the 10 pounds of Gold on Dynamite challenging for Cody's TNT belt in a winner takes all challenge on PPV would help promote the NWA to a wider audience and if Cody beat Nick he'd be NWA world champ again & add further prestige to the belt again.
It could also get around the stipulation regarding Cody challenging for the AEW world championship too. Then until Nick or even Tim Storm turns up on Dynamite or PPV to win the belt back it keeps the NWA on fans minds til they can make a return.

Please keep Algebra Teacher Tim Storm away from AEW in any compacity, even tangentially. Thank you

Re: NWA Thread
I believe he actually teaches History Oce
If you've watched the 10lbs of Gold videos about him or seen him on the NWA YouTube show I think Tim Storm comes across as genuine and like a 1980s type babyface.
Would that fit within AEWs more modern framework, I'm not sure, but even just him a one shot deal wanting to challenge Cody for the TNT belt I would be for it. As for Tim being a teacher, it's not like he's doing a Dean Douglas gimmick so no issue in that regard.
In a Wreddit Q&A
he said his dream match would have been against Dusty ,so him facing Cody in the Open Challenge and/or Dustin too would be the next best thing.

On a side note Shane Douglas is an 8th grade Social Studies teacher in suburban Pittsburgh.
During ECW he was a special needs teacher.
They also probably put him in charge of after school detention because he could Franchise any asses if need be.

No problem with someone teaching as a shoot job. Mad respect for teachers.
But....yeah no Tim Storm please. He is not a guud rassler.

NWA have deleted all the videos from their Youtube. No explanation(s) why as of yet.

Meltzer said they have an announcement later this week about it. They might have some kind of streaming deal.Big Boss Man wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:57 am NWA have deleted all the videos from their Youtube. No explanation(s) why as of yet.
