The problem lies with none of the talent. The problem likes in Tony Khan, squarely. He is the nucleus of much of what is happening right now.

I'd like to think AEW will move past this like WCW did in 1997, but this petty shit is an absolute embarrassment and it keeps getting worse and worse and I can't believe this is the same company that only a couple years ago had the world raving.

I honestly think Kenny associating with the Bucks is holding him back. I won't be surprised if he jumps to WWE once his contracts up. He should branch out on his own and good he looked out for Larry the dog and got him out of harms way. If that's all he did then there's no need to suspend Omega if anything he should be praised for getting the dog out the way.

Like Oce said this is real embarrassment. With all respect to Tony he's not cut out dealing with these guys. He wants to be buddies with them all but he's the boss at the end of the day. The talent should know if they do wrong they'll have to face the consequences. He doesn't have to act the tough guy but has to command respect.

Shutting Punk down at the scrum should have been his job. No need for him to rip on Colt and The Elite (including Adam Page) in public. That made everyone look bad. He should have sat down in private and sorted it out. Him saying about Terry Funk I don't think Terry would have behaved that way. Never heard a bad word about Terry and he was like beloved in the ECW locker room. If anything CM Punk should act more like Terry and not force his co workers into situations where they have to confront him.

Seems Punk likes to pick on easy targets and him acting the way he did at the scrum really painted him in a negative light. Regardless of how much merch he moves or tickets he sells you don't want that BS in the locker room.

He's injured now anyway and had to drop the belt so Tony really should just let him walk. He can't really risk losing The Bucks and Kenny and they have more long term upside. Punk is injury prone now and I think he's pissed off too many people - in the locker room and a certain sector of the AEW fan base. Everything should have been handled in house by Tony and the scrums need to stop. MJF might go into business for himself next and he's chomping at the bit to go to WWE. Which is the danger Tony faces if talent is pissed all they have to do is rant on social media or the media scrums and they could get their release granted.

If this was the Jags or Fulham this would have been a huge story. But wrestling is like bizarro world that exists in its own vacuum. The only guy who's come out of the whole scenario with any positive is Kenny and that's for protecting Punks dog Larry. Again he should look at his relationship with the Bucks and if he's getting heat with associating with them he should go on his own like Cody did. Otherwise if something like this goes on again he'll be dragged into it and when he's one of AEWs top stars doesn't need petty BS to damage his rep.

I know this should go in the TNA thread but I feel like this thread needs the soothing balm of a wrestler who is honest humble and grateful, causes no shit, and is setting up a grand final angle before retiring as one of the most beloved women's workers in modern times.

Saraya got an 80s Hogan level pop. Good for her. She had a bad few years, I hope she gets a run that puts that all in the past.

Good for a few initial pops and a decent match or two, but what's her value gonna be long term?

They have got to stop hiring everyone and focus on building homegrown talent.

AEW have done a very good building homegrown stars but you also need some established names to draw in the audience. Which is why Bischoff brought in Hogan/Hall/Nash etc as however good Rey/Eddie/Benoit/Jericho/Dean were in ring mostly all the mainstream viewers tuned in for the nWo.

Which is why Tony's bringing in the likes of Punk, Christian, Saraya to try to expand their audience. Once they've done their role by bringing in more viewers there's more chance they could stick around to see say MJF, Jade etc.
