The Epyx 1984 Preview Disk is one of the most interesting disks in my Commodore 64 collection. Not only is it a very early example of a video game company releasing playable, cut-down, or time-limited preview versions of its games, which later became an industry standard, but it's also a rare example of a Chromadisk, a unique manufacturing process that allowed full-colour printing directly on a disk jacket.
Rex. an action game from 1988, feels more like a modern indie shooter than an old ZX Spectrum game -- it plays differently from everything else, and graphically it looks the part too. How did this 1980's gem come about? Let's look back at The Light's rhino-tastic masterpiece. Enjoy!
