I would have loved something like this when I was younger. Back then the best I had for portable gaming was my Sega Nomad which I took with my on the bus sometimes. It was actually pretty cool the main downside was the awful screen.

I've got the Hori pad too. It's good and the size is fine.

I had an Atari Lynx, which was close to Steam Deck size.

Being able to play Bioforge on the go would have been amazing!

It would have probably cost like $5000 though.

It would have been expensive. And the amount of batteries it would have used would have made the Game Gear look like it hardly went through them at all. Or it would just use a laptop battery.

Someone should try to make a DOS handheld today. Ben Heck or someone like that.

Steam Deck can be a DOSBox handheld.

Seeing the Game Gear comparisons, I cant stop thinking about all the batteries. Or A/C adapters, or the rechargeable battery packs just to play Sonic Spinball.

The first person shooters and other traditional console games will be fun on the Deck. But honestly, I'd probably have more fun playing DOS box games and other PC games with the trackpads.

My absolute dream would be if it could emulate Wii U games, especially with HDMI out to the TV. That might be a fool's dream with the hardware specs.

CEMU should run on it fine, at 720p. A lot of the Ryzen APUs can run it OK.

So using that link, I chucked in my own Steam ID and it looks like I have a lot that needs to be verified, also not many of the games I play now are on the list. Thank god Rocket League is

The great filter remains to be "anti-cheat" software, which I'm not sure where they are for support with Proton. Most of my unverified games are indie titles that shouldn't give Proton much grief.
