The really good Ali documentary is on Sky Atlantic.

Thanks, the channel is exclusive to Sky though (it's essentially a version of HBO) and if you're not with them you don't get access to it. Sky Arts might show the Ali doc as they showed the Jane Fonda and Elvis ones, Sky One showed Andre, so it's possible they might air it there too.

It's one of the best documentaries I've seen in a while. It's 4 hours but it goes by quickly because they cover so much.

It had a lot of footage I'd never seen before like Ali and Martin Luther King Jr. giving a press conference together talking about how Christians and Muslims should unite against the Vietnam War.

Thanks, yea the trailer looks very good. I vaguely recall seeing one some years back about Muhammad not going to Vietnam and it told the backstory to it and his affiliation with Malcolm X and the NOI. Unless it was part of the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary. Speaking of Ken, he is making a 2 part doc about Muhammad's fight for Civil Rights, rumoured to be airing in 2021

https://deadline.com/2017/03/ken-burns- ... 54710/amp/

He could in theory make a huge Muhammad Ali documentary about his entire life. Although I think with the number of docs already out there, along with books etc almost every aspect of his life and career has been covered like with Elvis and the Beatles.

He's officially cleared to fight which is amazing. He was in some absolute wars in the 90s, I thought he'd have a ton of brain trauma. But I guess retiring so young saved his brain.

Yea but no boxing commission (the British boxing board of control have refused to give him a license) should let a 55 year old fight especially with what is known now about concussions/CTE. If this was an exhibition fight with a head guard on then that wouldn't be so bad but this will be a real boxing match. The risk at Nigel's age of brain trauma is very high. Also to my knowledge there's no concussion testing in the UK so there's no indication what shape his brain is in.
