Now that would be a leap gone wrong, though in these days of remaking everything with black female leads it wouldnt shock me, though I guess it can be passable the current Equaliser isnt awful, not as good as the original but watchable

The synopsis of the forthcoming movie – now officially titled Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe – reads: “In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to Space Camp by a ‘creative’ judge in 1998. Their obsession with a docking simulator (huh huh) leads to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results.

After going through a black hole, they re-emerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score.

Space Force has been cancelled by Netflix.

Bit of a shame. Certainly not Greg Daniels' or Steve Carells' best work, but was a great watch and a lot better than most live action sitcoms Netflix offer.

Disenchantment and Bigmouth are like the last 2 subscription worthy shows they have left.

While I'm here: Netflix, bring back Bojack Horseman for 4 more seasons. And bring back Santa Clarita Diet for at least one more season to finish it.

The second Disenchantment is either Cancelled or I can buy blurays of it, I'm out.

New ‘Jackass’ Series in the Works at Paramount+

Jackass” is heading back to the small screen, with a new series from the original creators in the works at Paramount+ after to the immense popularity of “Jackass Forever.”

“Based off the success of ‘Jackass Forever,’ we’re working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+,” Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish said Tuesday during the company’s Q1 earnings call Tuesday.

“Jackass Forever,” the fourth film in the long-running franchise, debuted at the top of domestic box office in February with a better-than-expected $23.5 million. The film included classic cast members such as Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Danger Ehren and Preston Lacy, as well as several new faces, including Rachel Wolfson, Sean “Poopies” McInerney and Jasper Dolphin.

The original “Jackass” series was a sensation on MTV for three mini seasons from 2000 to 2001, which launched several spinoff series (including “Wildboyz” and “Viva La Bam”), and a slew of films adjacent to the main four in the franchise.

“Jackass” leader Johnny Knoxville spoke to Variety this year about how “Jackass Forever” signals his desire to hand over the reins to a new generation of pranksters.

After a particularly gruesome hit from a bull while filming “Forever,” Knoxville said, “Those were big [stunts], and could end as badly. Or worse. I’ve done enough. I don’t have anything to prove. I have kids to raise. That’s the most important thing.”

“Jackass 4.5,” a film consisting of extra footage shot during the making of “Jackass Forever,” is scheduled to be released May 20 on Netflix.

‘Married… With Children’ Animated Series With Original Cast Heats Up TV Marketplace\

Another classic 1990s comedy is making a comeback. An animated revival of Married… with Children headlined by the original series’ stars Katey Sagal, Ed O’Neill, Christina Applegate and David Faustino is being pitched to networks and streamers and is getting strong interest, sources tell Deadline.

The new take on the 1987 Fox sitcom is written by Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter, who serves as showrunner. Sony Pictures Television, which owns and distributes the original series, has been working on the animated project for over a year and closed deals with the quartet of Married… with Children stars before taking it out.

While it is unclear yet where the animated Married… with Children would land, Fox, Hulu and Peacock are considered logical destinations.

Married… with Children, which aired from 1987-97 on Fox, is a signature series for the network. Considered one of the most influential TV shows in pop culture, it was one of the first original scripted series on the then-fledgling network, which helped put it on the map and establish its edgy comedy brand. What’s more, adult animation is in Fox’s DNA, and the network has several animated family comedies, most notably juggernauts The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Meanwhile, Hulu and Peacock are streamers that carry the original series, and adding the new installment would enhance their current collection and bring new viewers to the old episodes too. In addition to finding audiences on streaming, Married.. with Children also remains popular in syndication.

One of the longest-running live-action comedy series on network television, Married… with Children aired for 11 seasons. Created by Michael G. Moye and the late Ron Leavitt, the show follows the Chicago lives of Al Bundy (O’Neill), a misogynistic women’s shoe salesman; his lazy wife, Peggy (Sagal); and their children, Kelly (Applegate) and Bud (Faustino).

Talk about a Married… with Children followup has been around for years, with reports six years ago about Faustino pitching an idea to Sony about a divorced and struggling Bud moving back in the old house with his ex-wife and his best friend while Al and Peg live in Vegas after winning the lottery. Titled Bud, the potential spinoff reportedly came close to reality, backed by the original co-creator Moye as executive producer/showrunner and Sony TV, but ultimately did not move forward over objections from the son of the other co-original creator, Levitt. The other original stars are said to have been supportive of that project but in interviews, they have largely dismissed the prospect of a full-blown Married… with Children revival because of their busy schedules.

Gradually, the idea for an animated series emerged as it easily accommodates actors’ existing commitments and still could feature some signature elements of the original series, like its famous theme song, Frank Sinatra’s “Love and Marriage.” Sony TV recently took the same route with another classic sitcom in its catalog, Norman Lear’s Good Times, which has an animated version in the works at Netflix.

‘Rick and Morty’ Anime Spinoff Announced by Adult Swim

'Rick and Morty: The Anime' from director Takashi Sano gets a 10-episode order.

Rick and Morty is getting a spinoff.

Adult Swim has ordered an anime project from director Takashi Sano (Tower of God) that’s based on the Emmy-winning series. The network has placed an order for 10 episodes of Rick and Morty: The Anime.

Sano previously directed two acclaimed anime shorts in the Rick and Morty universe: “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil).” The shorts have generated more than 10 million combined views on Adult Swim digital platforms.

While the director will adapt themes and events of the main series, Rick and Morty: The Anime is described as standing on its own as an original work.

“The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion,” Sano said in a statement. “It’s such a life affirming sight, and Jerry is no exception.” He adds, “I am honored to have been given an opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family. I hope you enjoy their adventures!”

The series is produced by Telecom Animation Film. Adult Swim previously announced other Rick and Morty spinoffs as digital shorts, but Rick and Morty: The Anime is a full series.

In addition, Adult Swim has also ordered the anime series Ninja Kamui from director Sunghoo Park (God of High School, Jujutsu Kaisen 0).

Ninja Kamui follows Joe Higan who is a Nukenin, described as “a former ninja who escaped his clan and is hiding from his violent past in rural America with his family. One night, he is ambushed by a team of assassins from his former organization who exact a bloody retribution on Joe and his family for betraying their ancient code. Rising from his seeming ‘death,’ Joe will re-emerge as his former self — Ninja Kamui — to avenge his family and friends. Kamui is a 21st century ninja, a shadowy anachronism who pits his ancient skills against high-tech weaponry with brutal finesse. He must face off against trained assassins, combat cyborgs and rival ninjas to bring down the very clan that made him.”

“This is a story I’ve always wanted to tell,” Park said. “Transgression and punishment of a ninja who loses everything and goes out for revenge, and what lies at the end of his road. I am very excited about this new project and hope fans will be too.”

It was time. Once you become your own thing you should probably leave. Someone like Keenan can stay forever because he never became bigger than the show. But people like Skete, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy, and maybe Kate McKinnon now were right to leave at those times.

ETA Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney and Aidy Bryant are also leaving. Kate will probably do a lot of big movies.

I'm surprised they just don't switch it to an HBO Max exclusive. They've done that for less popular stuff.
