Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" is charting again due to it being in Stranger Things. Looks like it will be in the top 20, maybe top 10 in the next Australian, UK & US charts. It's number 1 on the itunes charts and up to 13 on Spotify.

In 1985 it got to 3 in the UK, 6 in Australia and 30 in the US, her only song to chart in the American top 40.

Running Up That Hill is #2 in the Australian charts.

There are not enough Harry Styles songs in the top 50.

I am so tired of Harry Styles pretending he's a David Bowie level genius.

I like stuff like Adore You and Golden, but he's no Bowie.

And in Kate Bush news, Running Up That Hill is #1 in the UK, up to #4 in the US and spends a second week at #1 in Australia.

TayTay is popular. The singles charts are fucked.

It's weird that Kylie's Impossible Princess (first released in 1997) is that high in the charts. I checked out why.

Is 2022 really much worse than 1985?

Aside from 2022 not having take on me and we built this city, the charts are practically identical, and could be interchangeable.

Take On Me, Head Over Heels, You Belong To The City, Fortress Around Your Heart, Be Near Me, Oh Sheila, Lay Your Hands On Me and Broken Wings are way better than anything in the current top 20 and most of the songs released this year.

Right now the entire top 10 is Taylor Swift's new songs. Are you a Swifty?

Its just as forgettable as it ever was. :olol:

I've heard a few swift songs and thought I don't hate this with a passion but couldn't recall a single one of them. much like most of the stuff from the 80's.
I like the 80's as much as the next person (unless it's calavera) but with no rose coloured glasses, there's just as much shit from back then as there is now. We all only remember and like the good 80's. and forget all the crap we didn't like.

I'm not a old fart automatic hater of new music (although I am 2 years away from being an old fart.) But I was never that into pop even in the 90s so I don't like Ariana Grande, Adele and BTS just like I didn't like Mariah Carey (although she did have some good pop songs occasionally), Celine Dion and N'Sync. But I think there's a lot of great music now. But it's more under the radar shit like Wu-Lu, Alex G, beabadoobee, Nothing, Backxwash, Dogleg, grandson and that album Dangermouse just put out with A$AP Rocky and Run The Jewels than stuff in the top 20.

Also that kid Kyle Richh made a Tik Tok huge hit mocking his rival (a 15 year old Brooklyn rapper called Notti Osama) who just got stabbed to death. That shit is harder than Hit Em Up and Who Shot Ya in 1996. These young rappers are out of their mind for real crime, the 90s rappers were lying about it. These kids are living it and documenting being gangsta in real time. Fucking Chief Keef is considered an elder statesman voice of reason now it's so wild.
